Dog Friendly Beaches

We're taking our little one this vacation, and would like to stop by the beach. Originally we were going to do Clearwater, but we didn't want to lock her up for too long so we decided to go to a dog friendly beach instead. Any recommendations? Preferably on the Gulf (open to the Atlantic, though), no more than 3 hours away from Disney, and also has restaurants willing to let us sit on a patio. Thanks!

Spiceycat you have posted an excellent site. I will add Lover sKey dog beach. LK is near Fort Myers Beach. I have seen many dogs being walked along the beach at FM. It's really fun to see. I believe your dog can run free at Lovers key.
