Doesn't the census have to be mailed out?

In areas that have traditionally low return rates they often don't mail it out and just go door to door. They get a better response that way.

There was anarticle in our local newspaperyesterday that if your mail is delivered to a p.o box you will not receive a census form in the mail. The government must connect you with an address that you live at. Census takers will visit these houses between May 1 and July 1.

I received mine in the mail, but a person still came around the neighborhood a few days later to make sure we got one (I would assume since some people in my neighborhood use PO boxes).

Also, both my mom and I got, "This is an awfully big house, are you sure you don't have any apartments?"
