Doesn't look like we'll be getting general codes? :(

I guess it doesn't look like we'll be getting general codes based on what I've read from different posts...and with the AP rate just being $74 for value.
I'm getting $84.15 with an AAA rate already so unless they had a general code rate at $79... I don't think we have much hope in general codes do you?

Anyone hear anything differently?

If general codes do come out, it looks like they'll be $79.00 for the values. Last year my code was $5.00 more than the AP rate.

I really want to do the dining plan. I hope general codes some out soon. Right now it looks like I'll be buying a PAP in order to get the room discount, then we won't be doing the dining plan.

Say it ain't so....

Many credible people on this board and on another board (which is where the Ap rates were posted before anywhere; including the dis and mousesavers) claim that there will not be ANy public codes released.

Of course, this would happen to me since this is my First on-site stay. That is just typical of my luck.

BOO HOO :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :badpc: :badpc:

I spoke with my TA, who is a wdw specialist, and she says she seriously doubts that general codes will come out for the summer from what the cm's are saying.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for a little pixie dust anyway.

I think there will be general codes out there. It may not come out tomorrow or next week. But I have a feeling it will come out. If they are coming out with the AP code, they will have one too for the public. Disney is probably taking care of the AP holders first and then the rest.

Don't give up...Just hang in there guys...

OK Fantasia...

I will try to hang in there and not give up hope but it is so hard when you are hearing SO many different things. There is a part of me that does believe what you are saying, there has to be some type of summer promo besides MYW..I will keep the faith!!

It's okay, guys. A lot of people were swearing that there would be NO codes just yesterday.

LuvAriel -- I had to chuckle, we are in the same boat as you and sounds like my luck is very similar too. :flower: Of course last year while planning our trip I got not just one, but 2 e-mail pin codes which of course were for the wrong time.

Oh well, we're going April 20-26 at POFQ regardless! I'm still hoping but am trying not to get uptight. I don't think we would change our resort anyway, just find lots of things to spend any money saved on (shouldn't be too hard!!!)

From the Important Details section of the email to passholders this morning:

...Offer will also be made to certain non-passholders in other select promotions.

As another poster said, they're just trying to take care of their passholders first. However, if Disney wants to take care of their passholders first when it comes to resort discounts, then they need to make some changes to how the system works, so that actual passholders get the rate. Instead, we get posts on the DISBoards like, "Oh boy, I just got the AP rate. OK, so what is an AP?".
(Sorry just a little vent)

I'm with LSUDIS.For the past few weeks, people have been saying -No AP discounts because of MYW -.Hold tight. I find it hard to believe that they would not release codes for the general public.

...Offer will also be made to certain non-passholders in other select promotions.

That could very well be Florida Residents.

dcibrando-
Is your rate before taxes? I don't know the tax rate for the hotels but my total per night is $94.92 with AAA at ASMo.

The CM I talked to this morning said he was unaware that AP codes were out...he said he just knew about "the new package promotion." Apparently they did a big email of PINs last night or today. So maybe that's one of "the select promotions."

MYM tickets, MYM meal plan and Magical Express are all programs that serve to reduce the cost of a Disney stay. Disney bookings are supposedly pretty high, spring break Disney was 100% booked last time I called. There were no rooms available in any resort; value, moderate, deluxe or even suite.

We've read that leisure travel is back finally above 9-11 levels. Disney may very well need fewer, if any, general public promotions to fill their rooms. Guests not comfortable paying currently available rate might want to look at off site alternatives.
