Doesn't it suck when ur last day is approaching & u see all new people coming in?

Flyinglizard, it SURE is a great feeling when you first get there, great post. I especially love the first time we head to the main pool. Something about going and walking into the whole "scene" of it, kids having a blast in the pool, going down the slide, everything about it. Having our first frozen daiquiri, oh way cool. How can I possibly wait till next April now, especially waiting for our very first cruise!!!!?

I usually have most of our souveniers shipped home. Since we usually buy a ton of stuff, on different days & from both the outlets & DTD, we actually end up with a few different shipments of Mickey stuff coming after we get home. There is nothing better than having a piece of WDW arriving to your home after you've gotten back. Gives us something to look forward to, plus we don't have to carry all our purchases on the plane and chance having them broken or stolen (although they could be lost in the mail...). Last year we had about 3 different shipments of stuff, including the stuff we bought for everyone else. Once each pkg arrived, we could surprise family and friends with their presents, and recall where we were when we made the purchase, what we did that day, etc. This doesn't always help the day we leave, just after we've gotten home and are missing Mickey. I would love to hear everyone else's ways to combat the sadness, so I can try them out. BTW, we also talk about our trip, develop the pictures a few rolls at a time, and have a "Disney Trip Video Night" for Grandma to see. I'm going to try to have my DD11 help me scrapbook the memories from this coming Sept's trip, so that should be fun for both of us!
We usually go once a year, but I have to battle DH to actually get him down to commit to going. Once the date is set and the deposit is put down, its smooth sailing. He would rather go Upstate NY and vegitate- I can't sit still that long.

and here I thought I was the only one being depressed. Since we've been fortunate to go 2 - 3 times a year the last few years, the feeling is not as intense, but there's definitely a little tug there. To ease out of the Disney zone, we play Disney CDs and sing along, which leads to talking about the rides and shows they represent and the kids watch their Disney movies on the ride home. This always opens up a discussion about what we'll do next time and as long as there's always a next time, all hope is not lost. My DS and BIL, who are our vacation buddies feel the same way and she has started a sweet tradition with my kids. Everytime we're near a fountain or area of water that is good for coin throwing, she gives them pennies and reminds then to make their wish to always be able to come back one more time!
We just got back on Monday from our longest stay of 10 days and the last couple of nights there we began talking about our up-coming Oct. trip. It did manage to ease the pain some!
