Does your travel agent have a better chance at ADRs?

We've booked with Dreams Unlimited for our Feb. '07 trip and I think I am going to let them handle my ADRs. Do you think travel agents have a better chance of securing ADRs than we do?

I'm booked through Dreams, too. I'm debating about calling Disney dining myself today and changing some ADR's for our trip in January. Do you know what reservation number we need? Or can we just give them a name? Thanks.

We've used Dreams Unlimited for the past 3 trips - and I loved it - although I'm a compulsive planner and at first it was hard to seemingly "let go" and have somebody else make the reservations etc - at the time it was the only choice - (too much going on at home) - it is so easy !!! For this upcoming trip I just emailed the places what I hoped for and times- she got them for me - (OK so I had her change them a few times) - but it is great - no phone calls - no worries - great communication - can't say enough

I agree with you 100%. However, with the new 2007 dining plan, I'm concerned that I need to change my ADR's today and not wait for my agent to do it tomorrow. I have used Dreams several times and currently have 2 trips booked. I will be booking another trip for May, 2007, before the end of the year!

:thumbsup2 That's what I was hoping to hear! My trip is Feb.17-25 and I've already emailed my TA with the restaurants & times I would prefer...it's just so wierd to sit back and wait! Everything has been wonderful so far.I've NEVER secured a CRT ressie and I am hoping my TA will be able to pull it off! I'm worried about Le Cellier, also.
As far as the ressie number, I don't know...I guess you could give your name since people who are staying offsite make reservations also, right?

It's their job, so they can be more consistent and strategic about when to call and such, and they are probably a lot more experienced, so they know exactly how to provide the request to the CMs so they can get the ADRs more efficiently, with less wasted time. So that gives them a bit of an advantage. Otherwise, they're calling the same CMs to make the reservations, and they're drawing from the same pool of available slots.

Just wanted to "ditto" this.

Also remember that CRT is not near as hard to get into anymore due to the menu change and up in price. Lots of people have been able to book it closer to their date then ever used to happen. LeCellier is the hot commodity right now! ;)

Travel agents call a different number than everyone else. I have always had good luck getting ADR's for my clients. :cheer2:

Our TA got us CRT last year on her first try. DH and I were both trying that same morning and didn't succeed.

I do think that having the experience to know the quickest way through the menus, etc. probably helps -- as well as having that be her only job, whereas I was juggling a 2 year old and trying to get my 6-year-old ready for school while trying to make the call!

In any case, I love the simplicity of having a TA take care of the details, and she even realized I had made a mistake once and got us the ADR I *wanted* instead of the one I *asked for* (I had inadvertently asked for a CP breakfast reservation the morning *before* we arrived, instead of the morning after we arrived!) I'm spoiled on doing it this way now, I think.
