Does your state allow the carrying of concealed guns?

Yes. In Indiana you can carry a concealed weapon with a permit.

As others have said, Florida allows concealed carry. I am working on my getting my concealed carry permit.

I'm another Ohioan who is a bit concerned about it. My SO and most of his relatives are going to get the permits. I know them, so I don't feel uneasy about them carrying them, but when I think about the guy two years ago who followed me back to my place of employment, blocked my car in with his, and proceeded to scream at me about my driving, insisting I was soooo lucky he didn't just kill me, I get a little nervous.

My SO's argument is that now, I can get a permit and if that ever happens again, the guy might not be so keen to confront me knowing I might be "packing". I don't know that I buy that so much! He was beyond rational thought!

But I can't argue with the stats from the other states who already do this.

Not always. Texas' concealed handgun law took effect Jan. 1, 1996.
The bill was sponsored by a woman who was inside Luby's (in Killeen) during the shooting where her parents were killed. Dr. Suzanna Gratia-Hupp - now a Texas State Representative - was forced to watch her parents lives be taken -along with 21 others - in the Luby's Restaurant rampage shooting in Kileen, TX because she was required by law to leave her firearm in her car.

Just prior to being elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1996, Dr. Hupp's testimony was instrumental in passing the concealed carry law that Texans now enjoy.
