Does Your Spouse/Significant Other Listen to You? Edited to add key part I forgot to include.

I mean really listen to you?

Yesterday I went grocery shopping. On my way home I decided to stop at Wendy’s for chili and baked potatoes to take home. Don’t judge. After putting groceries away I took the Wendy’s food out of the bags. No sour cream for my husband’s “sour cream and chives” baked potato. So, I told him…”they didn’t put sour cream in the bag so you’re going to have to put some of your chili on your potato” which he does most of the time anyway. I ate my chili but decided to leave my potato for lunch today. Went to the fridge. My potato is gone. His is still in the fridge. I asked him why he ate MY potato. His response? “I thought they were both the same.” Good grief. I am so annoyed with him right now

Edited to add: I left out a key part! His potato had chives on top and missing the sour cream. My potato had melted cheddar cheese on top. Geez, how could I forget to put that in!

In all seriousness, I’ll give my DH a 90% on being really dialed in and listening to me. In all fairness, I would give myself the same grade.

I guess if you specifically told him 'here is my potato with the melted cheddar on top, and here is your potato with the chives but no sour cream packet,' maybe I could see being a little bit annoyed. Though, sour cream and shredded cheddar are kind of staples for us and in my fridge at all times, so I'd probably just add more cheddar and pop it in the microwave to melt it. (And I might add sour cream too, maybe a handful of green onions, and some crumbled veggie sausage; now I'm hungry for a loaded baked potato).
