I'm the gross one - I hate wasting water. I don't flush after #1...
Same here. We flush only after a few uses. Wasting water and all. And, never overnight.

I live alone and if i just pee no I don't flush as your dh said its a waste of water. In fact next time I move I will remove the toilets and replace with waterless composting toilets (not easy to do in current house)I seriously can't believe I just got into an argument with my DH about this. He rarely flushes the toilet when he pees. I am sitting in the room right next to him, and I can clearly him him peeing. He walks out of the bathroom and I snap at him about not flushing the toilet! He thinks that if he is peeing clear, what does it matter if he flushes it or not? I told him it is disgusting, and I want it flushed! He said it is a waste of water and that it "must be that time of the month" for me because *I* am acting crazy.
Ughhh...don't even get me started about him not washing his hands afterwards.
Thoughts??
I would have a bigger problem with him blaming the fact that you didn't like something on it being that time of the month.
I can honestly say I never realized this was a thing!! People don't flush? Really?
I'm not OCD or a germaphobe about much but the thought of leaving a dirty toilet sitting there is just gross to me. Doesn't it smell? I mean even just #1 has an odor to it!
Yes, even in the middle of the night we flush. And I have two teenage boys as well and with all honesty I've never walked into a bathroom and found an already used toilet. AND they all know to put the seat down--their wives will thank me one day!
Always!!! One place I am a it OCD is the bathroom. I keep my toothbrush on my dresser since you don't even want to know how far reaching fecal matte is when flushed. Not taking any chances.

My thoughts exactly. My initial thought was the smell. Pee smells, no matter how hydrated you are. Letting it marinate in the toilet, even during the night, would skeeve me out. Even when I walk into a public bathroom, if there's pee in the toilet, I'll walk out and go to another stall. Not dealing with that.
Considering flushing to be wasteful sounds extreme to me, save for people in drought areas. If your water pressure is adjusted accordingly and you have a newer toilet (low flow), then you're not using much water at all and it's pennies every time you flush. I would think taking a bath or an extended shower would be more wasteful than flushing.
