Does your significant other have any strange habits?

:teeth: That is secretly why I married him. But shh...he never needs to know this.
I didn't know! It was just lucky perk for me! :thumbsup2

My DH after his shower insists on laying on his back in the bed to put on his underwear. I have tried telling him that most people learn to do that standing up by the time they are 3 but he says it is easier, OK?!?! :confused3

He will pick up the house which is great :thumbsup2 but never notice anything on a tabletop. Just doesn't see it

But I love him to death.

DH isn't an engineer, but still has some crazy habits, too many to name here.

The one that drives my DD wild: He is a former teacher, and knows something about everything, so he "lectures" her, using what I call teacher voice. If he feels her attention is not completely focused on him, he will stop talking and just look at her intently. After three or four lectures the other night, he stopped, and looked at her. She turned to me and said "Well, I've found the pause button; let's see if I can find the fast forward".

the person saying he has no common sense most likely can't even solve the higher level math problems using paper and a calculator that Dh can solve quickly without other tools besides his brain.

Geniuses like them can come down to a normal intelligence level, but those with normal intelligence most likely will never reach their super intelligence level.

This is ME and ME again!!! :)

My DH is a nuclear physicist...can you say weirdo??? He has many, many quirks, but this one is the weirdest...

He practices conversations to himself...moving his lips but not talking outloud to practice what he is going to say. He doesn't like to do business by phone--and that includes ordering pizza. Back to the talking to himself thing, sometimes we'll be talking and all of a sudden he'll go silent and move his lips, and I have to remind him to talk outloud.

OMG! My DH does this too! He is an engineer and very precise about things.I have met some of the guys he works with and I've noticed that all of the really intelligent guys seem to have thier quirks. It must come with the territory. He also tells people more than they ever wanted to know about things (think Cliff Claven on Cheers!). he has tried to explain every attraction at WDW to the kids. I just rolll my eyes and say, ok Cliffy but can we please go on the ride now?I could care less how it works. funny that a lot of people with lots of book smarts seem to lack common sense.......

Well ya see, Norm, it’s like this… A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones a! t the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only! operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. ! That’s why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Those are awesome! We were walking in MGM a few years ago and my DS says wow! How did they do that? While looking at Fantasmik show. DH goes on,and on and on about how they make the lasers and use the water as a movie screen etc. DS apparently tuned him out and goes, Um yeah like whatever. DH looked so crushed that the kid didnt care how it was really all done. Now DS is older and they like to play on PC and Xbox 360 etc. DS is a computer whiz. Sometimes they have whole conversations which to me are like a foreign language because I dont speak Geek! :badpc:

I got a tag! !!!I do believe in fairies! I do beleive in fairies!I do! I do! :tinker:

We call my DH Teddy Ruxpin. He can't just tell a story simply.....you have to know every single step and everything turns into this long, drawn-out story-telling event.

While normal people would say, "I mailed the letter." My DH would say, "I drove to the post office, put the car in park, took off my seatbelt, turned the car off, opened the car door, got out of the car, closed the car door, walked over to the mail box, pulled the little handle, opened the door, put the letter in, closed the door, opened the door to make sure it went down, opened the car door, got back in the car, closed the car door, put my seatbelt on, started the car, drove home."

PS: Thank you for my new tag, Tag Fairy. :cheer2:

Oh gosh. So many to choose from how do I narrow it down???

He is obsessed with that little ditty "Shave and a haircut, 2 bits". He hums it, he whistles it, he honks it with his horn, he knocks on doors that way, he pats my leg to the tune. There's no escaping it!!!

My Dh is another one of those that's incredibly intelligent but has no social skills whatsoever. It's amazing I even agreed to a 2nd date but there was just something so dorkily cute about him I couldn't resist. :rotfl:

Carla, I have said this before and I'll say it again. Are you sure your Dh isn't a bigamist? Because I think we are married to the same man!!!! :rotfl2:

Well I am married to the professor from Futurama, but I bet no one watches that show!

ETA: Thank you Tag Fairy! I feel so special now! :cheer2:

I KNOW! If we weren't married to them and they weren't so good to us, we wouldn't be able to stand them. :rotfl:
