Does your pet DESTROY toys?

Our dogger LOVES stuffed animals - but they have a shelf life of about 1 day with her.

I bought this Shrek toy (it IS a dog toy) at Target on Friday. I gave it to her, putzed around the kitchen, looked over into the living room (where she was) maybe 5 minutes later and saw a winter wonderland - stuffing ALL OVER the place. I had to "de-stuff" Shrek - so now she just has the 'shell' of him.

That was $8 well spent.

It is amazing how they can tear them up. I give my kitties some furry ones every once in a while and they are gone in a day or two.

Yes. With the exception of his squeaky duck. Any other thoy..completely destroyed..but he needs his duck to sleep with every night.

We bought him this really cute ground hog that made the noise of a grouind hog..we put it in his Easter Basket. Gone in all of 3 minutes! I think we paid $10-12 for it.

 :rotfl: :rotfl:  Too cute! The new furbabies have been carrying around HM toys that look like mice! Haven't destroyed yet, however!

Love the new pics, BTW!

Yep, that is about how fast Harley tears them up. She loves it - but it is pretty expensive five minutes. Atleast you got some adorable pictures!! :D

hehe - notice the chewing bone still intact in the first picture?

those usually last a full day with her...but no - she wanted to chew on her new Shrek that day! hehehe

My dog has a bunch of stuffed animals...but most of them don't have the stuffing in them anymore! She always gets new ones on holidays and other random times. Some have lasted longer than others, but most of them are ripped apart at least after a few weeks.

I HAD to take the pictures - otherwise DH never would have known what the toy looked like! heheh

Plus - I love Shrek...

I think my mini-dachshund thinks she's a hunter. The toy isn't dead until it's been completely unstuffed!! :p We buy her stuffed toys only twice a year, knowing they'll end up destroyed.

My dog does this too, but only if she thinks it's my toy. If it's her toy she will not play with it at all.

 Nope, I just have to hold it like it's a baby or something.

I no longer buy them toys. LOL! They strictly get rawhide chews and an occasional treat...since the little one likes to destroy everything and the big one isn't the least bit interested in toys. :) However, the little one will take the bigger one's bowl after it's emptied and chew on it. Today he actually chewed on his own bowl!! :) I have taken all my DVDs off the two bottom shelves because he takes them out and chews on them. Nothing is sacred around this dog! :scared1: This would be my boxer/lab.

Snickers, our Maltisse does this too. Even with the chewing, most of his toys last awhile. However, most of hie Eeyores are missing parts::yes:: pirate:

My macaw destroys everything that comes within a foot of her oversized beak. This includes hard plastic, metal bells that come on bird toys, and large wood blocks. I came home one day last month to find that she had escaped from her cage. She had strolled across my desk like a mini-tornado. She chewed up a wad of money (luckily it was only $5), all of my pens and pencils, a notebook, and worst of all, she had chewed off 1/2 of the keys on my laptop computer. I was able to put most of the keys back on but some of the keys are bent and hard to push. Typing is much slower these days.

I can't buy my golden retriever toys anymore either. The only thing he can't destroy is his Kong toy. He's had that since Christmas of 2000 and he hasn't destroyed it. Rubber toys?? About 45 minutes tops. Stuffed toys??? 30 minutes tops. His favorite tennis balls(which we do buy for him, outside only)?? The yellow is off within 40 minutes, and it's in 2 pieces 10 minutes later. Thank goodness for that Kong!!!

lol. My cat destroys her furries and her mice. They lose their eyes, ears, nose and tail first and then somehow she manages to split them open and take out their insides (I have no idea where she puts the inside. I swear I am going to find a pile of them somewhere at some point) so she just has the "skin". That lasts a bit longer lol.

It's incredibly funny. Good thing those only cost me like $2 each.

Though she does have two stuffed animals that she plays with and has yet to figure out how to destroy them.

My Lab (13 years old) still "kills" toys.

My poodle doesnt.

Our dog Norman loves to eat toys. Here is a picture of him on Christmas morning tearing open the packaging to get to his new sqeaky balls. We also occasionally get him some stuffed animals- whenever we decide to go to Dave and Busters for an evening, we use all of our tickets to get tacky stuffed animals to him to eat. Usually the ears go first, then the plastic eyes (I watch until these come out so he doesn't swallow them), then out comes the stuffing. I'm cleaning up cotton for days, but it's worth it!
