Does your neighbor's music ever bother you?

Hi all-

We are avid campers, but new DVC members so we are staying in the resorts for now. That being said, would love to bring the RPod down for a stay at the Fort. Have never experienced camping at WDW, and we always make time to wander around Fort Wilderness and it does look like an oasis of calm. However, we were just there last week, and noticed that one of the sites was blaring music midday. I'm not a music-hater by any stretch of the imagination, but I have always felt that you need to respect your neighbors. Your music selection, whatever it might be, not be the camping experience accompaniment that all are looking for--I'm all about headphones in public places. What is your experience? Has it ever been a problem for any of you experienced Fort Wilderness campers?

After 7 and before 10, I dont care or notice unless its full of explicit lyrics. I did have a neighbor at jellystone ask if I could turn it up, it was his favorite pandora station and he didnt have any data to stream it.

I agree with Jbrostek. During the normal day time hours I am okay with reasonably louder volumes. Let's not get crazy though. If you can hear the music 12 sites away (Clearly) then that could be an issue. Campsite right next to it, not so much. Consideration of your neighbors is key. Also thinking that the Fort is a FAMILY (i.e. WITH KIDS) campground and consideration to the type of music is also a factor.

We haven't had too much of an issue and most (not all) folks are considerate.

We've never had an issue, we always seem to have nice calm neighbors. I like to play music but never very loudly, my son likes to bring his guitar and I tell him just to keep his playing during daytime hours, not before 9am and not after 8pm. Even if other people are being nosy we just aren't those people.

I don't know if we've just been lucky or the extra foliage in between sites in the premium loops has helped but I could swear we were all alone in the park based on lack of noise each time we've gone. An excited group of children walking by is the only noise we've ever heard.

If I'm sitting outside and the music is coming from several sites away id drives me nuts (usually it's not music I like!) During the day I don't really care but once it starts getting late the volume needs to come down!

What is a real consideration is that people can be sleeping at ALL times of day at Disneyworld. I've taught my kids to keep their voices down be respectful at ALL times. In the summer, when you can find yourself returning to a campsite at 4 to 5am, you're not wanting to be up in the morning with everyone else. To stay out that late usually requires an afternoon nap from us as well. Just remember there is very little to no shelter for tent campers so being respectful at all hours is appropriate. Take earplugs to drown out noisey neighbors (or chirping birds, barking dogs, bus brakes, etc). I wouldn't say the Ft. is known for it's quiet.

Tent/popup sites have neighbors playing music rather regularly. The day after Easter, this year, went quiet and it was a whole different place- peaceful. Typically, the music goes down at 10, but there is the occasional family that keeps it up until after midnight, and security is apparently not good at influencing it being turned down.

1) When we stay, I bring the 5-string banjo (my instrument of choice) and 12-string guitar.
2) In fact, some of my local friends join us to jam with us in Bluegrass.
3) So far, no complaints, in fact, close-by neighbors come to listen and sometimes sing with us.
.
NOTE: For an example of our loosely formed group, check out the Ocoee Parking Lot Bluegrass Band on YouTube at Ocoee Parking Lot Bluegrass Jam. And, yes, anyone can come and join us to jam (or just sit and listen) every Friday night, rain or shine.

That's Awesome. I remember as a youngster, my Mom used to bring her Guitar when we'd go camping. We'd sit at the fire and she would play and sing. Lots of "Folk" music like Tom Dooley or M.T.A.

I think I think I'd be more inclined to listen to someone actually performing then to have someone blaring a stereo.
