Just curious to see how many people work during the weekend. If you work weekends do you get a day off during the week?

no, the more Im not there the happier they are

I unfortunately work weekends and have 2 consecutive days off during the week. :( I really hate working Saturdays, Sundays don't bother me as much.

LOL, Jason!

DH normally never works weekends, but this weekend they made it mandatory so he'll be working both Sat & Sun.

Depends. I'm on salary so no overtime for me. My job is very deadline oreinted (construction). Been a slow week (that's why I've been posting like crazy this week), but things will pick up next week.

unfortunately yes. and most of them. i have had exactly one complete weekend off in a year. i do still get two days off a week but they are not usually consecutive.

I do work weekends but because I am flexible, so are they. I can work from home if I have to. So, it is pretty fair for me.

I work about 5-6 Saturdays & two Sundays/year.

We rotate weekends and holidays. It used to be every 4th weekend and holiday but someone left and they are not going to fill the position. When I work weekends I have the Thursday before the weekend I work and then the following weekend I have Fri, Sat & Sun off.

YES! But I am a SAHM!

DH has weekends off, but he works a lot during the week.

No weekends for me!

I don't think I could work at a job that I had to work weekends anymore. Its been too long since I've had to

I do, but it's not a big deal for us since DH does also, and we have no children, except for our fur baby.

Honestly, I forget what it's like to look forward to the weekend...I'm always looking forward to my next day off...I usually get two a week, but they aren't always consecutive days...that being the way it is, sometimes you wind up working a bunch of days in row w/o out a day off...this is my first day off since last Wednesday...that was a seven day stretch.

And this weekend, I get to work the graveyard shift two nights in a row, for INVENTORY!!!!

Ah, the joys of retail. :crazy2:

I used to be on a rotation like someone mentioned before - every 6th weekend, then a bunch of people quit and it became every other weekend. That was my sign to bolt too - new job pays better, less stress and NO WEEKENDS!

I usually work both Saturday and Sunday. I train at agrocery store and that's when the younger kids can work. I get 2 days off during the week, I usuaaly take Wednesday and Thursday off. I do my own scheduling so if I need off on the weekend I take it. I do get time and 1/2 on Sundays so I don't mind working it too much.

Maybe one or two Sundays a year, and three out of four Saturdays. I can always request a Saturday off though, If I need it, and take a vacation day. I actually like working Saturdays as there's usually only three of us there and since I'm the supervisor it's like letting the inmates run the asylum. We lock the doors and turn up the radio :D

This works out pretty good because my SO also works most Saturdays, but only a half day. Also, I like having a weekday off to run errands that can't be done on the weekend.

Nope. No weekends, holidays or summers...I work in an elementary school and love it! :D

Oh yeah. The museum I work at is open 7 days a week, 362 days a year. So I'm pulling a Friday, Saturday or Sunday nearly every week. I say nearly, because at the moment I find myself with a three day weekend. Unfortunately, the missus is out of town at a conference so I will probably spend this time installing gutters and steam cleaning the carpet (two dogs).

Not complaining mind you, it's a great job. I'm doing the work I want, and I can request my days off if I want. Also, it's a state job so the benifits are wicked!.

When I was working in the hospital I ONLY worked weekends. It was a great deal--work every weekend and get paid for full time work with part time benefits. It was two 12 hr days. (7am to 7pm)

Now that I have kids I work part time during the week and I love it.

Kim

I'm on one of those rotation schedules too. I work weekends, either one day or both, but the third weekend I get a 3 day weekend.
