Does your DH buy you funny or romantic cards?

I have lost all hope that my DH will ever buy me a card that sums up how he feels. It is a joke card every year. B-day, Anniversary Valentines day. Does not matter

One year, on our Anniversary, I got excited when he handed me the card. It was THICK. OOOHHH, a 2-3 pager, they are always romantic. Well, my excitement was short lived when I opened it to find a pop-up card.

That was when I knew it would never happen. So, I stopped buying him the romantic cards. I guess that is how I got caught buying the same one he got me last year, this year.

my x did sometimes- not very often, maybe 1 holiday out of the year on a good year

dbf does, and he buys them for no reason sometimes he just shows up with a mushy card outta the blue

This is what my dh does too. This year he bought a v-day card and hid it in his car then yesterday he couldn't find it so I don't know what was on it .

I don't think I've ever gotten a romantic card from my DH. Usually they're funny of Disney related.

We both give one of each...it started when Dh could not decide between two, now its a traditon.

DH and I have given each other the same card also!

I get the cutesy ones (my V-Day one was a pop up! heheh)...but they really sum up his feelings in his own way.

I gave him a mushy one...and as he was reading it I could see his eyes glazing over and going "blah blah blah" in his head.

heheh...I'll save him the misery next year and just get him a short/sweet to the point card!

OHMYGAWD! This is so my husband!

What's worse is, he's the most romantic guy in the world. He will write me love poetry, write me a song and serenade me, send a dozen roses, buy the most thoughtful gifts, but his cards are pitiful. They're always joke cards and sometimes a bit insulting. I don't know what he's thinking! For my birthday, we went away for the weekend and he'd left my b-day card in the car. It was freezing cold outside, but he went all the way out to this parking garage to get me the card and stood expectantly while I opened it. It was a stupid joke card!

Always VERY romantic, from day one. Actually if he did get me a joke card for any holiday, I would think there was something wrong. Heck, we had a little argument the night he went shopping, and he still got me a mushy card.

I am not a romantic at heart and I love funny cards. DH's cards are always romantic but in a funny way. This years was great. Neither one of us likes mushy cards.

If it's a funny card he writes something romantic in it. If it's a romantic card, then his messages can get a little steamy.

DH was traveling so he left a romantic one for me to find yesterday AM, then last night when he got home he gave me a cartoon one with a poem on it that summed up our relationship EXACTLY. It was absolutly perfect and it made me tear up more than the romantic one. I think b/c it showed me that all the little things I deal with he actually sees and appreciates...it was a great card!!
