Just wondering if you bring from home your DD's princess dress or dresses? My little girl has a sleeping beauty dress and she wants to bring and wear it. Tell me if Its a good idea or not. She wants to take it (if it still fits) to WDW when we go in Aug 2006...

My DD wore her princess dresses up until the time she was around 8 years of age or so. She loved them and loves all the pictures she has with her princess "twins". The pics are fun. Now she is a little older and hardly wears Disney stuff at all, she is a pre-teen and just "too grown up" for that stuff she says!

whem we go my DD will be 6. She is being Sleeping Beauty for Haloween this year. My son wants to be Jack Skellington. I am going to have a very Disney haloween this year.

Absolutely! Let her be a princess as much as she wants. There's no better place to do it! And I'm laughing at the previous posts about the pre-teen being "too grown up" because the last time we cruised my DD was 15 and wore her Minnie Mouse dress (and yellow shoes and fuzzy ears) to dinner on semi-formal night. Our DS 6 was dressed in a Mickey tuxedo. They had gone out on Halloween dressed like that together. What a fuss Minnie and Mickey made when they saw them - not to mention our servers. They both had a blast.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Same here. My DD 7 always wears her Cinderella gown on Formal Night. So do alot og other princesses. The cast members love it!

My DD8 wore her Cinderella dress to dinner this past May. Our server made a big deal out of it and kept calling her a princess. She loved that!

Grandma made DS a wonderful Prince outfit and he wore it for formal night. Needless to say it was a huge hit. We probably had 20 or 30 people (adults as well as princesses) ask to pose for pictures with him.

Definitely take it.

One thing we love about WDW and DCL is being able to wear all our "Disney Stuff" that might raise eyebrows elsewhere. DH especially loves it!! For my twins' 5th birthday we ate at CRT - DD wore her princess outfit and DS his Captain Hook suit. We have great pictures from that day and the CMs all love seeing people get into the Disney spirit, especially the characters themselves. Captain Hook came over to my DS and fixed his "hook"! the princesses swarmed over my DD. Around the ship you see lots of girls (young and adult) wearing their princess or other outfits. It is really fun during picture time. Seeing Snow White with a little Snow White is so darned cute!! So Go For It! princess:

P.S. for Halloween this year kids are Cruisin Minnie Mouse and Buzz Light Year (costumes bought on the Wonder). DS won't want to wear his but DD will definately bringing hers next cruise and it will make a great shot with Minnie.

We're purposely having DD2 go as Snow White this Halloween so she'll have something to wear on formal night!

same with me, bought DDs Snow White and Cinderella last year after Halloween for this Halloween and April 2005 cruise. Should at least get a little use out of them!

This is reassuring. I don't think I will be packing any clothes for my daughter because all she wears is her Princess costumes. She has one of all of them and I imagine we will have to take them with us! It would be so cute to get pics of her and any little friends she makes with matching costumes! :)

Bring the dresses!
My daughter had so much fun wearing hers, and even the passengers would chime in with "Good Evening Princess!" She was absolutely thrilled and felt very special! Especially when she would see Cinderella or Minnie dressed in her finest. We are sailing next summer and have outgrown all the princess gowns. We will be shopping for more until our next cruise.

We took the girls dresses on the cruise. They were 5 - and had a ball dressing up

just make sure you have enough time for them to unwrinkle from the packing!

Formal Night was the big Princess Gown night.
The tea with Wendy was rather casual...sun dresses and shorts and my daughter didn't insist on a princess gown for that. In fact I don't recall seeing any when we went but I am sure they are appropriate attire! My daughter was particular about wanting to wear a dress to tea though. She was 4 then, and will be 6 when we sail next summer. I wonder what she will want to do this time. I will be depending on these boards to report as soon as the West Coast Cruises start sailing for any advice on anything and everything! So May cruisers....keep us in mind!
