Does your cat chase her tail?

I'm sitting here watching my cat. She's looking at her tail like she's never seen it before. Suddenly...she pounces! She whips around and around and around in circles before she gets dizzy and falls to her side, breathing heavily.

I've only seen her do this once or twice before in her life...

It's got to be the funniest thing I've ever seen!!

Only if he's being playful and I wiggle it in front of his face. He doesn't fall for it for long though. On the other hand he chases imaginary things.

My cat only chases her tail around the scratching post. Her head and chest are floor level, while her butt and tail are normal...and she oozes and twists around the scratching post in pursuit of that tail....One of the dumbest but cute sights I've seen in my life.

is this a "female cat" thing? I've got three cats. the girl like to chase her tail all the time, but neither of the boys has any interest in his own tail.

Ours will get mad at hers. She will growl and hiss at it. She has even tried to bite it a few times and will bat it around. She doesn't do it often though.
One day she 'caught' it. It was funny to see her sitting there looking so smug with her front paws on top of it holding it down.

Yep! And she gets silly and runs around in circles and up and down the stairs... she'll stop and look at me with wide eyes like "catch me" so I run after her and she runs.. we play tag LOL! She slides on the hardwood floor and it is a hoot

This is Hector. As you can tell he is no small kitty. He isnt terribly active. But he attacks his tail like it could bite him if he doesnt bite it frist.

He flops around making a huge ruckus.

No, he never does, but my brother's cat does...esp. if you tie something to it. It is HILARIOUS!

Nope, my cats don't chase their tails..(I have two cats) But my dog Ruby does!! I've never seen another dog do this either.

Prince Henry chases his tail while our other cat Jaggy watches. Its very funny. I would imagine it might hurt if he actually ever caught it.
