Does WDW suck in the rain???

Here's our deal, if its going to rain one day during our trip, no lightning, we take that day and go to TL or BB. Most people pack up and leave these places but you're in the water already, water is wet, so whats a bunch of rain. Done this numerous times and had the water parks to ourselves. Think about it!!

One of the things that TOTALLY impressed me about Disney the first time I took Josh in September 2001 was that it just keeps GOING!! Disney doesn't shut down because of rain--if it rains at Six Flags in St. Louis, your day is SHOT. At Disney, you don your ponchos and skip in between the raindrops!! It's AWESOME. During our last trip in January 2004, the rain was COLD because it was cold outside. We were prepared though with warm clothes. We went on HM about 10 times in a row--skipping pre-show and getting directly on the ride. It was a lot of fun because we challenged each other to find something "new" each time.

Don't worry that it will ruin everything--it won't!! Go an have an FABULOUS time (rain or not!) :wave2:

3xthecharm - oh I am with you on that! I had 3 of them throwing up one trip.
:crazy2:

>>>>>I got caught in a torrential rain storm at MGM. Then went to MuppetVision-it weas SOOOOOO COLD in there and I was so uncomfortable, it almost made me sick. I be bopped down to H-wood Blvd. and bought a nylon anarak(on sale no less for 29.99)best money I ever spent at Disney, its lightwait and has a hood so i just tie it around my waist and put it on when it rains(I use an umbrella rather then poncho)or put it on when its cold in an attraction. I have done EPCOT in a moderate rain-not the best but hardly the worst. Gping again in July-praying for not to much rain.

I would say the worse about rain in the parks is that all outsoor activities are cancelled, and usually with no notice. Not even signage. Even the food kiosks close up. Between closed rides, attractions, cancelled parades, etc, THAT is why it does not take long for the parks to thin out. It seems only half of everything is up and running.

The rain is not so bad!!! WE were there last week and it rained 2 of the days that we were out and about. The crowds were light and we also bought the ponchos. The rain SURE beats SNOW!!!!

Enjoy your trip.

I hate.dread it when it rains on my vacation in wdw...few years back we went in Sept. It rained every day from 10:00 am until we went to bed.

We tried to suck it up and do the best we could.. By the end of the 3rd day we could not get the sneakers dried at all. the room smelled of all the wet, musty clothes. I had to wash all night long.

The very next morning we woke up and sure enough, one hour later it started pouring again.

That was it for us, we packed up and took an earlier flight home.

I may be the only one, but I find it darn depressing having 3-4 solid days of rain with no let up.

I will never go in Sept again but realize that it can really happen any month

We've been in December before, so that's theonly month I know what it rains like. We're leaving in two weeks and this will be our first time during March. It can ran like you were in a monsoon for 15 minutes and then be absolutely beautiful the rest of the day...
