We are upgrading our tickets at Guest realations for Annual passes. I wanted to know if WDW still accepts checks as a form of payment?? :goodvibes

I'm curious about this also. I guess I would be suprised either way. I wouldnt be shocked if they didnt though, with the IMO almost 'standard' of debit cards with checking accounts now.

No, no personal or cashier's checks are taken as payment across WDW property.

Vem -> you sure on that..

There's conflicting information.

Was there a recent change? (last 12 months?)

Are we sure about "Cashiers Checks"... I always bring a cashiers check to pay for our dining plan when we check in at our resort? :)

Well I decided to call for myself to Member Services for DVC. She called SSR which stated they do take Cashiers checks as well as personal checks for payment.

I wanted to go a step futher and call SSR myself. I talked to a front desk manager and was told yes they do take Cashiers checks as well as personal checks and that checks over 200 are ran through telecheck.. not a problem he also stated it was the same policy Walt Disney World Wide..so I know it conflicts with what is posted here but thought I would pass it along.

I am going to take my checkbook as well as my debit card to the resort as well as to the guest realtions to upgrade my tickets. I will post my experience when I return.

We have tickets that we are going to upgrade to DVC member annual passes. I will be trying to charge this back to the room as well. I know you are not suppose to be allowed to charge tickets back to your room, but I will let you know if I was able to charge an upgrade only back to our room...

If you have any advice or personal experience with any of this... Please post.

:)

For a few months the terminal in my ticket booth, including when I was working in Guest Relations, has not had the option of accepting a personal check. So if you went to a ticket booth or Guest Relations they could not accept a check. Likewise the merchandise locations do not accept checks.

My understanding is that the Resorts (hotels) will still accept personal checks. However, you cannot do any transaction related to an Annual Pass at a Resort.

So figure on using either a credit or debit card, cash, traveler's checks, or hotel charge. Note that you can charge the upgrade to your KTTW and then use a check to pay the KTTW balance at the resort.

Wow! Thanks for the reply... You told us just what we needed to know. :) Happy Holidays!

Good to know!
A couple of years ago I wrote a check for dinner at Sci-fi and when I asked the server if he needed more information for the check he replied "oh, don't worry...Disney WILL find you if your check is bad! The creepy factor (it felt really true!) still gets us today and makes us chuckle!

Cheshire Figment ~ We are exchanging 2/1 day tickets for 2 Annaul Passes. Where cam we go to make the transaction. Guest relations or the ticket counter. Can they take care of it at the resort or only in the parks?

Thanks :)

They accepted checks when I was there a few months back and they accept checks as payments for reservations. I have read in several places that they still accept checks.

Anything related to Park tickets can be done at any of the following locations:

Any Park (including Water Parks) ticket booth. This includes the TTC.

Any Guest Relations Office (GRO) outside the parks. This includes the Water Parks, TTC and DTD.

Any GRO inside the Parks.

This includes "will-call", upgrading any tickets, replacing any tickets, converting an AP voucher to an AP, or selling an AP.

Anything that can be done related to tickets at a GRO can also be done at a regular ticket window. The ticket windows cannot do things such as make reservations, unscramble problems related to room keys, or handle Lost and Found or Guest Recovery.

Note that Guest Services/Concierge in the Resorts cannot do anything related to Annual Passes.
