I am not a big Wal Mart fan at all and definately not when it comes to using coupons there. They take them but it is such a hassle.
One of the last times I was in there was around midnight one night. We had stopped on our way back home and I just needed milk and cereal for the next morning.
While in the cereal aisle I remembered that I had a coupon for Cheerios so I picked up the brand I originally went in for along with the Cheerios and milk and headed for the checkout.
We got in line at around ten minutes to midnight and there was 1 person ahead of us buying a few cans of motor oil of all things.
The cashier starts to ring up the oil and apparently the customer thought it was ringing up wrong and he was being charged more per can than what the sale was. First the cashier asks another cashier what she thought the price was and if it was on sale. Then she picks up the phone to call the dept. While on the phone she cancels the sale and now starts over.
This went on for about 15 minutes. We would have stepped out of her line and found another cashier, but the lines at the others were now longer than the one we were standing in for what is now at least 20 minutes.
Finally a manager or someone comes over and helps the cashier end that oil sale and that cashier leaves to take a break and another steps in to ring us up.
She gets to the coupon part and announces that my Cheerios coupon had expired. What? No it hadn't it was good through the 30th. She then tells us that technically it was after midnight and now the 31st so the coupon had expired and she did not have to take it. How ridiculous as "technically" when we got in line it was still the 30th

I hate Wal Mart.
This would NEVER happen at a Target.
