Does Waitilist Cancel when Modifying?

Hi. I currently have a waitlist and it's set to replace a specific reservation. If the original reservation is modified to a different resort does it keep or remove the waitlist request?

While the reservation maintains the same reservation number, I have some concern that procedurally the system might need to drop the orignal reservation / first resort before booking the modified reservation / second resort. My concern is that the waitlist could be lost in that split second when first resort is dropped.

It's important that I keep my waitlist position. Would you advise It's safe to modify or that I not make any changes? Thank you.

I’ve had to get MS to change the note on the waitlist when I switched resorts. The WL will remain as will your position in line.

It keeps the waitlist. I had made a reservation with MS on the phone back in April or May, and she entered a waitlist for me. I later modified my resort to a different one online myself. Last week the waitlist came through and replaced my reservation.
