Does Vidcon greatly impact park attendance?

Just thought I'd gather a quick consensus from some DL experts and/or locals. I just found out it takes place while my hubby and I there. The guidebook I have didn't seem to list it...So I'm guessing it won't be too big of a deal?

....Though at the same time, it is completely sold out...Eek! Plus August 4th is Disney day for the convention...Good thing we only have a half day that day.

Side note, is anyone going? I wish we had time/tickets! I saw a few of my favorite YouTubers are gonna be there like Shane Dawson, Hilly and Hannah Hindi, and Hannah Hart. I'm such a nerd for saying this but I would love to meet them! :-D

Its 1am here and I am clearly very tired... I read the title of this as "Did *vicodin*..." My first thought was, "I'm sure it at least made everyone very sleepy"!

I think any convention has the potential to impact attendance levels, esp when it's a sold out one with a primarily younger demographic. I know they are offering special convention priced tickets, so evenings might be busy.

I can tell you that they are expecting 10,000 to attend Vidcon. I only know about it because my DD20 is attending, and at the last minute her friend backed out. So I (her mom) get to go to Anaheim instead! I'm not going to Vidcon but will spend all my time in the parks. Which will be fun; I've never had the opportunity to go as a "solo" before. My guess is that most of the Vidcon attendees will be spending all day Friday and Saturday at the convention and not at the parks; there are scheduled events throughout the evening as well. Sunday attendance at the parks may be impacted, though. From DD20's point of view, it was almost irrelevant that it happened to be right next to DLR; she was going for the conference!

The discount for the park tickets is minimal and the standard one offered to all conference attendees. It will save me $50 on a 5-day park hopper.

Ah thank you BigDogMom7 for your input!!! I mean either way we are going since it's our big trip for the year but I am glad to hear they have events running all day and well into the evening. Also 10,000 isn't too bad...I was think way more dramatic numbers like 50,000 or more!

Dragonflycurls - Eh yeah that may happen but we'll power through somehow...I'll just hope the attendees get too tired after a long day from the conference. One can wish right!
