Does Vidcon greatly affect attendance?

We will be in Disneyland June 22, 23, and 24. I know everyone says to try and not book around the time of a big convention, however our dates are not flexible. I noticed that there's a Vidcon convention that week. Is this a very popular thing? Do you think it will dramatically increase crowds? I just want to be prepared for what to expect.

No. Even D23, a Disney specific convention, doesn't greatly increase crowds. You'll be fine.

I agree with ashley0139. In general, unless it's a major convention happening at Disneyland Resort (e.g., Gay Days or Dapper Days - which are park based events), there really isn't that noticeable an impact on the parks themselves. Large conventions are more likely to impacts availability at area hotels/motels and crowds in DTD (primarily in the evenings). There maybe some/limited impacts of the days immediately before or after the conventions, but only a few conventions seem to actually result in Dis'ers reporting higher than expected crowds in the parks themselves.

That being said, you are going during summer, so I would expect the parks to be pretty busy.
