Does Vero Beach have free Internet yet?

You can only access the web in the lobby or one of the restaurants. It is free access. One thing I really like about VB is the inconvenience of getting on the web. Adds to the relaxation at the resort!

Thanks and that is true. I do not usually take my laptop but I'm going to this time mostly because my niece is comig with me and she will use it to keep in touch with her family.

We were in the main building (The Inn) two rooms away from the Green Cabin Room (Bar) on the 2nd floor and we could get wireless access in our room. It even worked on the balcony. I do not remember any ports for internet in the room.

There's always dial up - I've used that at Vero since the resort opened. It's not great, but it beats sitting in the lobby!

It bothers me that virtually every Super 8 or cheaper motel in the nation has been able to offer this service for several years, and Disney is just now figuring out how to provide it. It is a service that is very cheap and easy to provide, and the failure to provide this service two years ago suggests DVC is not thinking about the needs of the members.

I agree 100%. I remember thinking "surely" they would have it by my June 2008 visit. I am going to write a pleasant reminder to the manager that I will be greatly disappointed if they don't have free in-room Internet by the end of the year as suggested by Jim Lewis in 2007. I am mailing my letter to:

Just got back. We were in 2219-second floor not far from Green Cabin Room and had wi-fi internet no problem. Not sure if it was because we had a renovated room or if it was the proximity to the bar-but we loved using the internet with no wires and no hassles. Had trouble using our cellphone in the room, however. Had to go to the hallway to get a decent signal.
