Does US/IOA have a "value" resort?

Anything onsite at US/IOA, or very close and NEW offsite in the $75.00 range? I'm thinking I've never heard of US/IOA having the equal to the DW Values but just want to be sure. We've been buying up things here and there for a Christmas trip. DH & DS were going to go to US/IOA and DD & I were going to DW during the day. Now both DS & DD can't go and it's just DH & I. This will be romantic and fun but now we have 2 bonus passes to US/IOA but 13 QC vouchers to DW. We've got to consolidate to one place or the other and I just don't think we can afford the US/IOA hotels? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Should we try to sell the QC's and eat at US/IOA or drive over to DW for meals???????????????

Universal's "value" is the Royal Pacific Resort & it is not "value" as Disney's is. It is more in line with some of Disney's Deluxe (like Animal Kingdom Lodge & Wilderness Logde). Rates can vary from as low as $119 to over $200 per night, depending on season & discount types. You may want to consider the RPR if you can get a discount. It is worth it especially with the front of the line access. I am staying 12/17 for 4 nights. I got the pass holder rate, plus there is a stay 3 nights get one free deal, making my average per night stay come to $106. Cannot beat that anywhere!
Can't help you much with a $75 range offsite. I usually stay onsite or do Priceline for my stay. I know you can get something decent for $75 range with Priceline, but you are not guaranteed to be close to Universal.

If you are not going to get the use of the full day the day yoiu arrive or the last day. I would stay off site for those nights .

For example:

The first night we arrive may 22 we are staying at the amerisuites for 72 dollars including taxes. got this rate from www.hotelmartusa.com

from 23-28 we will be staying at the royal pacific

28 th we will again be staying off site at the amerisuites for 72 dollars including tax ( Amerisuites are small suites and include free breakfast in the morning)

Maybe u could do something in the same manor. And i would advise to stay off site when you are going to anywhere other than universal. For example if you are going to sea world, or bush gardens , save some dough. And reserve only the nights that you will use the benefits of the on-site hotel.

I figure this way I will save 150 dollars and not have to pay for 2 breakfast meals. probable another 20-40 dollars there.

if staying on site is rally important to you. Econimize where you can. My food budget is where I manage to make the difference. We always eat breakfast in the room. We usually only eat out no more than 1 meal per day. And have sandwhiches for the other meal. I have gotten pretty creative with this part. and been able to save lots of money while still keeping the kids satisfied.

And here is yet another thought why not break up your stay between Disney World and Universal. I have heard fabulous thing about disney resorts. In fact , the one I am hearing the most about right now is the wilderness lodge. I have heard it is very romantic and there is so much to do at the resort with out even going to the parks. But being able to go the parks with just a little boat ride is quite appealing. then you can still get use of those vouchers.
