Does US have/Does Canada have...?

Corona tastes terrible I prefer Blue or LGD or Black and Tan and Guiness Rickards Red stuff like that.

Does the US get the CBC for televised hockey games?

Our Alberta Health Care is $264 a month for our family. That covers hospital bills, etc.. but not prescriptions, private rooms in a hospital, ambulance rides, things like that.

What's that health care monthly charge all about? Is that something you pay monthly to the province or is it a private insurance plan? If it's to the province, is it mandatory? I've never heard of such a thing. If you're already paying for health care, what is Ralph Klein proposing then? You're going to pay for the basics and then pay again for the upgrades?

Yes, it is mandatory. I think you will be denied care if you don't have it. I think they will garnish (sp?) your wages for it too.
I don't know how that will work with the thing Ralph is proposing.....

Something that stuck me funny-

I was watching a US tv channel the other day and a commercial for Kentucky Fried Chicken came on-talking about Chicken Capital USA and the snacker sandwich for only .99 cents!

Then-switched channels-saw a Canadian Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial talking about Canadas Favorite chicken-and the snacker sandwich for only $1.59!

sorry If this was posted before..... I didn't take the time to read all 21 pages! hehe

Does the US have ketchup chips?

one time on my way to WDW, in the toronto airport, there was a guy walking through the terminal with about 4 or 5 big bags of ketchup chips!

In light of the "Why Americans/Canadians dislike each other" thread that is going on......
Just bumping this up to keep the USA/Canada relations strong!!

So, does the US have ketchup chips??:)

I do not think that they have ketchup chips.

DH always gets the weirdest looks when he asks for them!

I've seen ketchup chips here but they aren't popular. It is almost like they tried them and then got rid of them. We don't have all dressed chips either.

Not that I've ever seen!

Does Canada have wild horses anywhere?

We have herds of wild horses in Alberta. As a yound child we used to ride on the Kootney Plains and always saw lots. Their are many herds by Sundre also unfortunately someone is poaching them right now.:sad1:

The rail trail is a bike trail that goes along the railroad tracks. You need to have a mountain bike because the trail gets kind of rough. I love to bike! :sunny:

DH and I love to bike on rail trails (especially the Lehigh Gorge and the Ironton Rail Trail). Now we have to stick to wider paths such as these because we're pulling DS2 in the trailer.

Are teachers in Canada paid well, and are they considered public employees?

Housing is also very costly in Alberta

Does the US have to pay a monthly health care bill or anything like that?
Out of every paycheque comes Taxes, Alberta Pension Plan, and Unemployment Insurance.

$264,wow.I only have to pay $108 a month for my family in BC.

I actually love to go south to Montana! We camped at Lake Koocanusa every summer as a kid, and I loved going to Kalispell, Libby, and a bunch of other places around there. And of course, Disneyland is my #1 place that I want to go back to , with WDW in there too. As for Canada...if I won a trip anywhere in Canada, I would like to go to Toronto.

There are so many celebrities that are originally from Canada: Keanu Reeves, Pamela Anderson, Michael J.Fox, Mike Meyers, Jann Arden, Shania Twain, Terry Clark, Wayne Gretzky, and of course tons of hockey players. I am having a brain freeze right now, can't think of any more celebrities.
Canadians-help me out here-who else was 'grown' on our soil?

Theres also Kate from lost. she grew up in Kelowna BC,the same town I grew up in,Then she moved to Vancouver.

The main blonde cylon from Battlestar Galactica is from Alberta. Nickleback is from Alberta.

Does Canada have Dunkin Donuts?

Oh yea - btw - we love our new Tim Horton's...1 mile from my office. :hippie:

We don't have Dunkin Donuts in Alberta, I don't know about the rest of Canada....

Tim Hortons is crazy up here. You can't drive past one without seeing 15 cars in the drive-thru. Glad I am not a coffee drinker or donut lover!!

Does the US have a cereal called "Team".

I used to eat it all the time, but haven't seen it here in over 10 years. I used to love it!!

I've never seen team. We don't have shreddies either. :)

Are teachers in Canada paid well, and are they considered public employees?

Teachers are paid reasonably well. In Ontario the salary range is about $38,000 to $70,000 depending on your years of teaching and your qualifications. There are also many good befefits included.
