Does UK Half Term make any difference

Hello All,

WDW is so large, do you think the UK Half Term in October will make any difference to the attendance a the parks?

I am planning a trip in October and wonder if I have to take it into account.

Any opinions would be great.

The smaller breaks not so much as most UK visitors go for 3 weeks.

You do need to take into consideration that the closer to Halloween the busier it gets.

October doesn't quite attract the same crowds as the likes of Easter but is becoming more popular with all the special events on at that time of the year.
Will be busy but not packed out I would have thought.
So yes it will make a difference but not overly so - the majority of UK travellers still opt for Easter and the summer holidays as schools are on holiday for longer.

Ideal weather too in October.

Actually 2 weeks is the most common Florida holiday duration for UK visitors

We've been a few times in Oct half term, and it's generally not too busy. There are noticeably more Brits around that week, which undoubtedly makes it more busy than it otherwise would, but not massively so IMO. The week after tends to be Jersey Week so the Brits are replaced by New Jerseyans (most of whom seemed to be staying at OKW )

October at WDW is no longer the quiet time it once was, but that's down to the special events aimed at attracting more visitors and nothing to do with the UK school break. What you will have to contend with, though, are inflated flight prices. We planned to visit during October for the International Food and Wine Festival last year, but ended up pushing the trip back to the beginning of November simply because the flights were significantly cheaper.

Last time we went in October wdw wasn't overly busy, certainly wasn't empty tho!
Universal on the other hand was almost deserted the days we went

We never had to queue for more than 15 mins when we went in October. It was only busy on the weekends. One weekend we had to queue on the I4 going towards Universal, but the rest of the time was fine.

In fact given a choice I would prefer to go in October, than any other time. I just don't want to take my DS out of school now he is getting older. At the time he was only 6.

Quite a few Americans asked us if it was a UK school holiday as they had noticed a lot more Brits around

We were there in October last year and have never seen Hollywood studios so busy, maybe we picked a bad day to visit.

Hollywood studios was the busiest park for us too, I put it down to it being the park that swallows the crowds worst
