Does truth on message boards matter?

If you see an untruth (factual, not opinion) posted on a message board, do you feel obligated to post a correction to it? Do you think it is being "negative" or "argumentative" if you see someone else do it?

Depends on if the gist is conveyed, IMO.

If someone is talking about ice and they mention it's freezing point is 33 degrees F, but that's not the point, I'd let it go.

If you're talking about Pluto being a planet or a dog, well, good luck.

Or is it personal facts that a DISer posts of themselves and then says something totally different about something they had said earlier on another thread...and you read it and you think...well this DISer is not telling the truth....hhhmmmmm....I am not really a "detail" person in that respect so if that is what you MEAN...someone basically talking "out both sides of their mouth" for attention...sort of like embellishing or maybe (lying)....

Not sure, OP, I will continue to read your Thread and see what answers you get.

If it's information that someone is seeking, then yes I'll state something is incorrect if that is the case. There is a way to do it without being demeaning or rude.

Sometimes people are mistaken. :confused3

Depends on the info and how sure I am of the correction. Nothing worse than "correcting" someone and then being wrong in your "correction".
