Strange question I know . . .but we were at WDW last week and we were right underneath where she would fly to and ummmm she never came out??

I thought she flew every night right before the fireworks started.

Anyone know?

I think we've seen "her" everytime we've been to MK but I would imagine that if the weather was bad she would not fly.

Tink does not "fly" before fireworks if there are electrical storms in the area.

I thought I had also read that Tink doesn't fly if the wind is more than 3mph. That sure seems hard to believe, doesn't it?

I would imagine so, unless weather precluded her flight.

I still think if they're not paying Tink a million dollars a year to do that, they're not paying her enough!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd do it for half that amount!!!!

We were there in June and I read somewhere that Tink would NOT be flying for a couple of nights. I figured that she must have had a couple of days off. Or been on vacation herself.

She does have a wind restriction. I don't remember what it is but 3 mph seems very low. Dh & I keep an eye out on the castle pediment for activity. However, we've seen them come out before and then go back in and no flight. I guess they come out to check the wind. The voice opening to the fireworks is different if she's not going to fly. Man, it's been too long since we've been there, I used to remember exactly how it went. Tink flying has been one of my kids most cherished moments for years. My kids are all getting older and it's just not a big deal to them anymore. But oh how I remember the days when we used to stand there and wish and wish for Tink to appear.

On one backstage tour I seem to recall being told that Tink has to weigh in every day. If she is overweight, no flight! Talk about pressure!

Also Tink does not fly for MVMCP.

:p

Rudolph takes her place. He doesn't fly at the beginning like Tink, he flies before the special surround fireworks.

Oooooh! I'm getting excited :). I've never seen Tink fly before, but we're going to try to see it when we visit next time. We'll also be there for MVMCP....that's interesting to note that Rudolph doesn't fly at the beginning, like Tink. I would've thought I'd missed it if I was expecting it right at the start!

What exactly is Tinkerbell "flying"? And where can you see her from?

She flies from the top of the castle to the plaza restaurant roof (or beyond it). If you stand by the big Tomorrowland sign on the bridge she will fly right overhead.

Is it actually someone dressed up as Tinkerbell, or some sort of computerized image?

It is an actual person and the wings have lights in them and everything!

It is a live person. Don't know if it's true, but I heard she gets paid $500 per flight.
