Does this work for DVC?

(I'm investigating buying DVC here.) If I buy in 2002, can I do this:
2002: bank all points for use in 2003
2003: use all points for '03, use banked from '02, borrow all of '04
2004: no points left
2005: bank all for use in 2006
2006: use all of '06 and '05, borrow all of '07 and use in '06

and so on? A real issue for us as we only go every 2-3 years. (We could buy in at just 150 and this style of vacationing would meet our needs for a decade or so.)

Thanks for your help!

Yes, the scenario you describe does work and is what many here do on a regular basis.

Yes, you can do exactly as you say.

Of course that's what you can do, but honestly you have to beware of the highly contagious DVCitis!;) Symptoms of this disease are:
Desire to visit WDW more often then you thought you would
(sometimes more than once a year!)
Urgent longing for more points to use for more trips, DCL
or booking a Grand Villa
Total addiction to the DIS DVC Discussion Board

No known cure for the disease at this time...

The only catch is that its unlikely you will have no points in 2004. You will probably have some left over from your 2003 vacation that need to be used by 2005.

I get the feeling that no one here has any trouble finding a home for those points.

Thanks for the quick responses--good to know it can be done. Kem330, I am COMPLETELY CONVINCED you are right about DVCitis! Being stuck out on the west coast has some disadvantages, that is, airfare. But we do get some killer deals. . .
