My sister-in-law (co-planner of big honkin' family vacation coming up in October 2008) just spoke to WDW Reservations about booking our 3 rooms at All-Star Movies (she asked about Pop Century too). The person she spoke to said that the deposit would be $200/room (so, that's the cost of two nights right?), including insurance(?). Also, the "preferred" rooms at ASMovies are all booked for next October (already?) so only "standard" rooms are available. Does all this sound right to you DIS veterans?

To be as close as possible to a designated smoking area, where should we book the rooms at ASMovies? Also, how long does it take to walk to a Disney bus stop (approximately, of course)?

Thanks so much!!!!!!

Your call went through the Walt Disney Travel Company and their requirement is the $200/room deposit and to pay it off 45 days before your arrival. It's possible that the preferred room either have been booked already (maybe a group?) or are blocked out right now.

From looking at the map, your best buildings for smoking areas would be The Love Bug or Fantasia. There are two smoking areas in between those two buildings.

The bus stop is at Cinema Hall so even from The Love Bug, it would be about ten minutes tops. That's at a stroll.

A package requires the $200 deposit. So if she booked room plus tickets it would be a package. If you want the dining plan you MUST book a package with room & tickets to get the dining.

I would check another agency. I have been quoted from at least 10 different "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" agencies... I went to google and did a search for them, knowing that at least they were real Disney people. :) Thats what I suggest to you...

I also wanted a "preferred" room at Pop Century. A couple of the places said they were all booked up, but two agencies came back and said they were happy to help me get what I needed. Good luck to you, keep checking around!
