My sister-in-law (co-planner of big honkin' family vacation coming up in October 2008) just spoke to WDW Reservations about booking our 3 rooms at All-Star Movies (she asked about Pop Century too). The person she spoke to said that the deposit would be $200/room (so, that's the cost of two nights right?), including insurance(?). Also, the "preferred" rooms at ASMovies are all booked for next October (already?) so only "standard" rooms are available. Does all this sound right to you DIS veterans?

To be as close as possible to a designated smoking area, where should we book the rooms at ASMovies? Also, how long does it take to walk to a Disney bus stop (approximately, of course)?

Thanks so much!!!!!!

(I also posted this in the Resorts forum)

If you're booking a package (i.e. room & tickets) you will be charged the $200 deposit. Walt Disney Travel automatically adds travel insurance to your cost unless you specifically tell them you don't want it. The thing I don't like about the packages is that you have to pay everything 45 days in advance. If you book a room only reservation, your deposit is the cost of one night's room and you pay the balance at check-in. I can't really answer your other questions. We usually stay at All Star Music and even at it's farthest point, it only takes 5 minutes to get to the bus stop.
