Does this sound OK for our resort switching day?

We leave in 3 weeks for our very first trip to WDW and we couldn't be more excited(just thought I'd start with that)!! We are staying at POFQ for 5 nights, then switching over to WL for 3 nights. On the day we switch resorts(we are having the resorts transport our luggage), I made a PS for Chef Mickey's for 11:00, then I figure we will head over to WL to see if we can check in early. Then(wether we can check in early or not), we thought we'd just explore the WL, swim if it's warm enough. I also made a PS for WCC for 5:00, then over to FW for campfire and the movie? Does this sound do-able? Will we be too full to eat at these two places this close together? Any other suggestions for what to do during the day???????????

Sounds great to me - wouldn't change a thing. WCC has a menu so you can order a sandwich, or whatever you are hungry for - I wouldn't worry about that too much. For a first timer, you sound like a pro already. :earsboy:

Your day sounds very do-able! Nice and relaxing I wish we would have done something like that the day we transferred resorts! Another suggestion for you to do when you get there would be to either rent bikes at WL and travel to FW or take the boat over there and see the petting zoo that they have.

If you get there at 9 or 9:30 am, there is a lobby tour. And if all else fails, (you always need a "plan B") go to the Magic Kingdom --if your passes allow for that day.

In case you didn't know, you can rent the surret bikes at WL so that it something else you might want to do while exporing the resort.

Just a quick comment on transportation between resorts (this is assuming you are planning on using Disney Transportation). You sound like a pro already so you may have gathered this much already but the fact is it's not always the easiest.

To get from POFQ to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's I suggest that you take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and walk to the Contemporary. To get from the Contemporary to the Wilderness Lodge I think you may be able to travel by boat.

Oh, and I am definitely not a pro! I have just been following these boards and feel like I have gained so much knowledge that is not found in books. These boards have turned out to be an invaluable planning tool! I owe you all many thanks :worship:

When we change hotels mid trip, here's what we do:
- pack up the night before
- wake up and call to have our luggage sent to the new hotel
- take Disney transportation to the park of our choice
- stay at the park for as long as we want
- hop a new bus back to the new hotel
- check in and get our luggage

This has worked very smoothly several times. Hanging around and trying to get an early check in are an option, but you definitely don't *have* to give up a day at the parks just to transfer hotels. (Of course a *down* day is always nice, too, but don't feel liek you have to kill time to make the transfer work...)

Hope that helps!

SnoWhiteRabbit--we actually did schedule this as a "down" day. We will be in the parks for 4 days before this, and another 2 after, besides our departure day. We have PHP's for 6 days. Thanks.
