does this sound like a good/realistic food budget?

i sense some sarcasm BUT looks like there would be no "scam" going on after all.
i just received the email with the coupon and the coupon specifically states "one coupon per visit, per check".
so don't be so quick to judge.

What dies "one coupon per visit, per check" have to do with signing up with multiple emails (to get multiple "one time" coupons?). That's what we were referring to (because that was your question) - the "scam" is joining the club multiple times by pretending to me different people. Even you know that you were trying to "get away" with something - since you asked if you'd be able to "get away with it".

ETA - I wasn't being sarcastic. It is most likely that they wouldn't know that you were cheating by signing up with multiple email addresses.

using 2 emails to sign up does not mean i'm trying to be 2 different people.
in fact the coupon also states that it must be used by the person who's name is on the coupon and they ask for ID so i'd be signing up with my same identity.
and it does not say its "one time use".

this is my first solo trip.
usually i get the dining plan so i don't really think about food budgeting.
and prior to using the dining plan my parents were footing the bill.

i've pretty much determined where i want to eat, when i want to eat, and what i want to eat from each place and then looked up prices and rounded up to the next dollar to account for tax (i understand that if something is $8.99 and i round it up to $9 that its not accounting for tax but i figure that by also rounding up a price like $12.10 to $13 that in the end it will all even out if you know what i mean)
for 4 nights/5 days i've determined it to be about $140.

this is what i plan to eat with that $140
april 12th
-lunch at cosmic ray's starlight cafe: grilled chicken sandwich with fries and i'll have my own water bottle.
$11
-dinner at cosmic ray's starlight cafe: BBQ pork sandwich with fries and a regular sized coke.
$14
-late night snack at POP: tie-dye cheesecake
$5

april 13th
-lunch at fairfax fare: mac n cheese and truffle oil gourmet hot dog with chips and i'll have my own water bottle.
$9
-mid day "snack" at POP: alcoholic beverage by the pool.
$10
-dinner at earl of sandwich: sandwich, side dish, and bottle of coke.
$13

april 14th
-lunch at sunshine seasons: turkey and monterey sandwich with potato salad and a chocolate milk.
$13
-mid day "snack" at L'artisan des glaces: ice cream martini
$12
-dinner at electric umbrella chicken nuggets with fries and strawberry cheesecake and i'll have my own water bottle.
$13

april 15th
-lunch at BOG: roast beef sandwich and strawberry cream cheese cupcake and i'll have my own water bottle.
$17
-dinner at earl of sandwich: sandwich and side dish and bottle of coke.
$13

april 16th
-lunch at POP: mac n cheese and i'll have my own water bottle.
$7

btw i'm not a big breakfast eater so i'm bringing pop tarts and apple juice.

i'm also bringing a few small nesquik chocolate milks just as a little "snack" in my room.

and i'm bringing my own water bottles because i can buy a case of 12 for the same price as disney charges for 3 individual bottles.

i do not feel like i will be hungry with the amount of food that i've decided to eat but i also will not deny myself more food if i do feel hungry.
the budget is more of a guideline not set in stone like i cannot go over it.
IMO, the diet is high in fat and salt and low on nutritional value. I could probably do a day or two with food like that but if I had to eat like that for any longer length of time, I would feel sick and sluggish. Sure, your belly will be full but your body won't be satisfied.

So, to answer your 2-part question:
Is it a good food budget: NO, the food choices are of poor nutritional value
Is it a reasonable budget (assuming that you're talking about the amount of money you expect to spend on the items you've preselected): Somewhat. I think you're a little short when you add in taxes of 6.5%-7.0%

I didn't know there was an Earl coupon club thingy, we just signed up for it for Vegas next week. How long does it take to get?

So how did this budget work out? Headed to Disney in May and trying to limit cost TIA.

We are campers so we do breakfast in the trailer. Then give the kids $10-$15 for each meal, no drinks just free water, water is good when you are walking around plus we have other drinks back at the campsite. We have never had a problem with this budget and always also a day or two with an extra snack. I think for a solo trip your budget is reasonable.

Also, do your alcoholic beverage "snacks" include tips for the bartenders?

You might also want to bring some extra money for actual snacks like grapes, apples, carrots...

:rotfl2::rotfl2:I have to say, when I was young 20's, a balanced meal on vacation was NOT my priority

The op's plan may not match the pyramid, but is fine for a weeks vacay. I am very jealous of hervsolomtrip. It has been way too long since I have been solo

Not everyone's trip consists of signature dining. Our very first trip was in 1998 and we ate all cs, w one TS at our resort, Dixie landings. And that was a stretch!

I can't wait to hear about your trip. You will have a fabulous time!

Sounds like you put alot of thought into your budget and where you would be at what time for meals. I think your budget sounds about right for exactly what you have planned. I also read that you have extra aside "just in case" and/or if you want an additional snack, good idea there. I concur with the poster above that you might want to consider packing food snacks (not just water and chocolate milk) to have in your room. Have a great trip!

Ok, I tried to resist but I just can't.

Technically, if you exit for a few minutes and return it would be a different visit and you can use the 2nd coupon! Tell them that. I'm sure nothing extra will end up in your sandwich.

I can relate to the OP. I am going solo in 17 days and have a couple of ADR'S and that is it. Too much food for one person.

There are CS options that don't involve eating fries twice in one day. I know there are people who do it. I really don't care if adults want to eat unbalanced meals on vacation or otherwise, but when those adults also ask for advice on how to carry a selection of several indigestion pills in the park, I understand why other posters give dietary advice. Likewise if I knew someone who complained that their pants are too tight I might point out something I've noticed about their eating or drinking habits. If it were a stranger, I'd keep my mouth shut. It seems like other posters on a message board fall between the friend and stranger on the acquaintance scale.

Someone is a bit uptight i see :rotfl2:. Have a drink, maybe 2 sets of fries in one day. live a little.

This is great but the code expires after a week or so. Make sure you do it right before you go. I made the mistake of signing up and cant use the coupon.

That's the info I wanted so im thinking of signing up two days before we leave. Because its a printable coupon right?
