does this sound like a dumb plan?

I have been checking air from Milwaukee to Orlando 10-11 thru

the 18 the cheapest I could find was $226 per person non stop

with great times going and coming.

but just for fun I put in leaving from Chicago

it came to $144 per person on Spirit (any opinions on this one?)

We' have to either drive to Chicago about 1 and a half hours or

take a shuttle either way we'd lokk into staying over at a hotel

that will take you to the airport

with this plan we'd have to spend for the shuttle to Ohare and a nite in a hotel.

Does this sound like we'd save money, would it be worth the extra work of getting ourselves to chicago the pluse would be it would be non stop then.

Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

$226 with great times sounds good to me. The best I could do from Pittsburgh in May is $251 with not so good times. How many people do you have? If it's more than 2, it would probably be worth it.

I think $226 for good times on a non-stop is a good deal. I'd prefer that over a 90 minute drive (think about how you'll feel about that drive on the way home, LOL) and a hotel stay.

For me, the savings (consider gas and hotel) would not offset the inconvenience. JMHO. YMMV.

That said, I agree with DebbieB - it depends on how many are going. Might feel differently if it were more than 2.

I really think it depends on how many you have in your party. For awhile there were no cheap flight out of Philly...but Baltimore was coming in much cheaper...probably about the same difference as you quoted and it would take about the same about time (hoping for no traffic) that you stated. It wasn't worth the aggravation for just the 3 of us. Now I have friend w/ 3 kids that did it...for them the money was worth it (still don't know if I would have done it!). I'd stay closer to home... $226 isn't bad...and if your are flying SW, USAIR or United (some other may do it too!) you should be able to get a credit voucher if your flight price drops. Just keep checking the site! Time is money....and that can be more time spent at WDW!
