Does this sound legit (Vistana Village)?

AGAIN!! People this is NOT a scam. I did it last year as I said earlier. IF ANYONE does not want their invitation just pm me and I will take it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We are dealing with Sheraton not a company like Ron Jon (Liki Tiki) or any of the other boarder line companies like Westgate. JUST CALL them they will tell you. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE TOUR. As I said earlier I used my name to join Starwood Club b/c my husband used his last time and I HOPED they would send me another invitation.

Ok, chill out. I was wondering if all of the invites were the same or if any found anything slightly different on theirs. Also, my question regarding resort fees and taxes were never answered. I have a friend who went on one of these and the taxes were $299 per person per night!

Again. We just returned last week and there were no "surprise" charges on our final bill. I think we paid taxes, but it was NOT significant.

As for housekeeping, I think it generally is not included if you're staying less than a week (we stayed 5 nights). But the maids came 4 of the days we were there and they provided clean linens every day. This was over and above what we expected, so we tipped them generously. We were NOT charged a housekeeping fee.

If you are still concerned about a particular fee, just call them and ask them to tell you exactly what each fee will be. Get the name of the person, write it down and keep it for future reference. But I really don't think it's necessary.

We did the presentation even though we had no intention of buying. The resort had been extremely gracious in giving us an extra night at the last minute. Though they quoted $180 for the 5th night, our sales agent called shortly after that and said he would comp that night...PLUS the $100 refund...if we attended the presentation. It was only an hour and a half, and we had a built in babysitter, so we didn't mind doing it. The agent could pretty well tell we were just going through the motions...and that was that.

I would stay there in a hearbeat for this rate. I totally believe this is legit and if anyone doesn't want their promotion feel free to PM me the code or whatever they sent you and I will happily use it for you!

it was not the offer you are talking about - but yes I got billed not much - but enough for me to notice it from sheraton vistana.

when I called and ask - I was told I didn't attend the timeshare presentation.

but I think the difference is what pirate parrot says - the state in which you live - some states don't allow it.

To quote her
"It may be by the state you live in. In Maryland, it is illegal to solicit for timeshares that require you to sit through a presentation to get a prize. Maybe everyone here is right, but they live in different juristictions that have different laws."

It may be different in NJ than Al.

We are looking to stay at vistana villages next year, does anyone know how I can get one or those invitations? We also need 2 bedroom, is that offered on the invitation?

We received this offer by phone last year, and stayed there in the fall. I believe the offer was presented because we joined the "Starwood club" (cannot remember the actual name.)

It was the $169 offer w/$100 cash back. THERE WAS NO PRESENTATION INVOLVED!! Since it was by phone, there was no postcard for me to read the fineprint. I called the phone # they gave me, and they said "No, absolutely no presentation is involved unless YOU want to do it."

I'm sure variations of the offer are out there. There have many advertising methods directed as various demographic groups. There are plenty of people staying there who do the presentation.

For our family of 5 (3 kids), the one bedroom was rather small. But the pool was great, and we couldn't beat the price.

My advice is to call whatever phone # is given and ASK QUESTIONS DIRECTLY TO THEM. We can only offer our advice here, and I believe this to be legit and a great way to save some $$ on vacation.

By any chance would you still have to phone number? I would call it and just say I was called in the past is it still available?

I found my paperwork from our stay last fall.

After making the reservation, we received a confirmation letter that has a "Sheraton Vacations" letterhead. The # is 800-348-7505. I also have another # written down which is 800-326-3260. Hopefully one of these can get you somewhere.

I do remember that we received more than one phone call to our room asking whether or not we would like to take the "tour", but we were never required to do so.
