OK, so we're planning this year's trip for June and I call our aaa travel agent to give her our thoughts on where we'd like to stay, etc. Nice woman, used her last year. Nothing fancy, all star family suites or the cabins at ft wilderness for a week, 6 day park hopper (no waterparks), and quote me basic and deluxe dining plans both.

What i got back for pricing was crazy. So i took what she gave me and called disney reservations direct just to see what their quote would be. The quote from disney was actually LESS than the aaa quote. For example, seven days in midjune with ddp and ph tickets at family suites was approx. $4900 from disney and $5500.00 from aaa. Yes, taxes and fees are included.

All things being equal, aaa should be at least a little cheaper, right? I mean, that's one of the (few) benefits to being a member of aaa. Has anyone else run into anything like this?

Let's see. Having used AAA before, the AAA quote may include trip insurance. Also, double check to make sure that the quote from disney reservations included the taxes.

If it is truly an apples to apples comparison, then the AAA price should be the same or less than the Disney price. It may well be the same because there are only a set many of AAA priced rooms or packages. So if they are all gone, you will get a rack rate price from AAA.

Those were out-the-door prices. Taxes, fees, insurance, everything. That's what makes it so strange.
