Does this plan make sense? Please help me decide.

So, we are going to Orlando in Sep. Have already booked the Grand Floridian resort with the 6-day park hopper and got the free dining plan with it. Since we have two boys, 4 and 6, for some reason I thought we would just focus on Disney and stay there for a week. Well. DH wants to go to Universal as well...so...now I am rethinking my plan. I changed our booking to check in at GF Sep 15 through Sep 20. We are driving to Orlando on the 13th and plan to do both parks on the 14th. My 4 yr old is about 37" and 6 yr old ( both are small for their ages) is at 46".

What I was thinking is that, since we are splurging for Disney, I want to scale back a bit the first two days. So, will probably Priceline or Hotwire a room the first two nights. Then get the two parks option for the 14th ( two parks, one day). But, since we have only one day to do this, would you recommend we get the Express Pass? How crowded do you think it will be? What would you do?

My dates for Disney are not flexible, so I am just trying to work around it, and would really appreciate any ideas, suggestions...

You should be OK w/o the Express passes in September...it's not overly crowded that time of year. I would wait until you arrive and play it by ear. If you feel the lines are getting out of hand, you can purchase the EP's at either park.

On the other hand...if you should decide to stay onsite at Universal, you each would get unlimited Express access during your stay. Something to think about.
