I will be at WDW for a week and then I would like the spend the weekend at Universal before spending another week at WDW. Does it make sense to rent a car on Friday and spend all day at WDW and then in the evening head to some cheap hotel somewhere between WDW and Universal and then Saturday AM get up and check into my room there for 1 night? If I do that I have the front line access Sat and Sunday right? Anyone have any better suggestions? I just can't see paying almost $300.00 for one night just to sleep because we won't leave WDW until my parents leave to catch their evening flight.

depends on when your going cause if its a busy month the yes its worth it just for the fotl passes cause the wait times for the rides can go over 1 hour.:scared1:

NOPE!

Just kidding, it makes perfect sense to me. :lmao: FOTL is worth everything, and you have it from check-in all day to check-out all day. Just don't miss the biggest, bestest attractions and shows USO/IoA have to offer!

(cuz if you do, well....let's say it ain't pretty! :rolleyes1 just kidding again)

Does it make sense to rent a car? No. If all you need is transportation to UO, get a service or a cab. You'll only pay to park the car at the hotel...even if you're not using it. Stay onsite, do not rent a car....(mho)

Ok well I was going to rent a car so I could stay at a cheaper hotel on Friday night but I guess if it would work out cheaper I could stay onsite both nights. Does anyone know how much it would cost to get from WDW to Universal?

I think maybe $60 roundtrip?? I think Mears and a taxi would run about $30something (not sure, have never travelled between). Remember, you have to pay at least $12 to park at the hotel each night too. If you stay onsite for 2 nites, you'll get 3 days of FOTL. Call some of the car services and ask what r/t would be (resort to resort). You'd get a grocery stop too. Hate to see ya 'waste' a day at cheapie hotel :guilty:
