I'm staying at Animal Kindom Lodge Villas-Jambo House Thursday, May 9th through Tuesday, May 14th. I may need to fly in on Wednesday, May 8th, so was checking Annual Pass discounts with a castmember on the phone a few minutes ago. I was quoted a Royal Room, water view, AP discount at POR for $192.94, and a standard garden view room AP discount at POR for $157.50. An AP discount for a standard room at POFQ is $200.93!!! How can this be??? I said to the castmember, "so you're telling me an AP discounted standard room at POFQ is more than an AP discounted water view royal room at POR", and she said yes. I'm like, "this doesn't make sense". Is there something I'm missing?

Room discounts are there to fill empty rooms. The discrepancy is d/t some resorts needing to fill more rooms at one resort (lower price) vs. another resort (higher price).

Clearly, there is less of a discount on the POFQ rooms. POFQ is a popular resort that fills up without a discount, so less need to offer discounts there.

If I'm not mistaken I think the discounts for the FQ is less than the discount for POR. That would make it more expense than POR.

They never have a problem filling the rooms at FQ so they don't have to offer a big discount they feel ppl want to stay there they will pay, and we do lol

Just the way the cookie crumbles......sometimes I check and POFQ is cheaper, sometimes more expensive. I get the same scene at the Swan/Dolphin, the more expensive of the 2 seems to change month to month.

Oh, okay, makes sense now. I just couldn't get past the fact that the "royal rooms" were so much cheaper, LOL! I'm most likely going to go with Pop Century at $102.10! For one night, to basically sleep there, I can't see paying the difference for the "prettier" room, and Pop is really cute anyway!

We looked into booking AKL, POFQ or POR with our AP Discount in April & was totally amazed at the different prices between all the resorts & yes, I do know AKL is Deluxe Resort, but we found that the discount there was only on the Pool View rooms & we always stay Savanna View when possible. Then we decided to look at POFQ since we had never stayed there & it was high too, so after researching online we chose POR because it was almost $100 per night cheaper than POFQ. We'll just have to keep watching for our next vacation to see if we can get back to AKL or try POFQ. Just can't justify the higher price this time. JMHO

I had a similar experience with my POP reservation for April. When I called to apply the AP discount, I could have saved over $100 by booking All Star Music instead. I waited a while because I really didn't want to give up POP for Music. In the meantime, the All Star Music discount went away and All Star Sports became available. I booked it because of the room renovations and being able to save $200 ($100 per room). It doesn't seem right that the price would vary that much within the same resort category but as another poster said....the goal is to fill rooms.

Sondra :)

Lately they've only been giving POFQ a measly 5% discount. The days of all moderates having the same discount are gone :(
