ok, don't know where to post this so I will try posting here.

For those of you have have been to the MK or Disneyland often do you experience this?
I spent the first 40 yrs of my life living a mere 5 miles from Disneyland and visited often, especially in the past 10 yrs when I had an AP. Since I was a little child when I first went to DL, I obviously do not remeber my first visit.
But until I relocated to FL a few yrs ago, I had not been to WDW or the MK.
When I went to the MK for the first time, i pretty much knew what to expect, up to a point, yet i was still very, very excited to be seeing it for the first time. I remeber i savored every moment of exploring every nook andc ranny, every ride, store, retsaurant etc on that first visit. It was great! Yet now, after going to the Mk on a regular basis, i find it has become "routine". and "old hat".. I hate to think of the MK this way, and dont get me wrong i still love it, it just doesnt excite me as much as it once did. To me, when i visit the park anymore, it just seems like i am going becasue it is a "habit". I think back in my mind to that wonderful first viist to the MK and wish i could still feel that same excitment. Does anyone else have these same feelings?

Well, not that it is "old hat" but speaking as someone that makes it a habit to 'hit the parks' on a fairly regular basis, I know what you mean.
The other day, I was just in the mood to ride Soarin'. So, after everyone was dropped off for the day, I find myself in the car and on the road over to EPCOT.
Now by the time I get there, park, walk in through the Security, hit the turnstiles and get over to the Land, I was wondering why I had bothered. The wait time was 60 minutes. No problem, as I had a free ride ticket from a month or so ago when they had to shut down the ride for mechanical issues.
But still, I waited about 15 minutes or so.
When I got off of Soarin', I walked a bit around Canada and tried to decide if I wanted to keep going on to France (my next fave) and after deciding no, I have seen it a thousand times, I turned back around and took a few more pics of some of the topiary displays, toured through he Festival Center, bought a CD and then headed out.
All in all, I was gone from the house just under 3 hours. Sometimes I cut through DD on the way home as it is actually shorter than dealing with the traffic out in front on 535.
Sometimes it seems like I and other locals take it for granted, and it is nice to take a break once in a while. But it is also nice to pop in and out for even just a couple hours here and then. I love going over to the MK just to ride Splash or Buzz and then head out.

I do love living in Orlando though. Even with all the traffic and the noise at night, I would never want to live anywhere else.

Another thing that I like to do is people watch. I love when I am standing in line and can hear one person insisting to another that Rockin Rollercoaster IS at the Magic Kingdom, they are positive!! :lmao:
Another favorite is the person that "doesn't even need to read the map" and continues through Adventureland headed for "the Toy Story ride" :lmao:  go get 'em tiger!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I try to make a point of doing something new or often overlooked on every visit. I think thats what keeps the parks fresh for us. We try to get there once a month since we are AP holders to Disneyland.

On our last visit we met up with a British Dis'er for her first visit to Disneyland and we did a couple of new things to us too! That made our visit extra exciting to be with someone new and have that different perspective.

Yeah, I get bored with WDW on occasion. But then I take a few months off (usually in the summer when my pass is no good) and then I'm back at it. :teeth:

WOW...your living my dream.. I would love to live that close and just "pop in" when the kids were at school. Or, even take them out of school and play at the parks...That sounded like a lovely 3 hrs you had. :thumbsup2
