does this happen to you.......or is it just me..

As my dear friend Mary Poppins says, feedddd the birds...la la la...

oh...........it was those OTHER dvc owners.................you know the ones........:rotfl2: but of course you are right...anything that is said has the possiblity of offending any single person or group.

You made me smile. It's nice when something that was ment to be funny is taken the right way.

and

shhhhhhh ........ I do know the ones.

I had that happen to me on the Community Board. The "coconut" thing.

The OP of a thread posted comments attributed to themselves, when it was actually comments from an online article. When others made comments suggesting quoting a source (myself included), we did so in a nice way. The OP sounded like a kid who didn't have the maturity to say, "That makes sense, live and learn." Instead, he or she had to get on the defensive, turning around and making us look like we were horrible people for "attacking" him/her.

Such is life online. It's easier to be mean and nasty when you're hiding behind the anonymity of a keyboard than it is to be mean and nasty to someone's face. That's the way it's always been and will continue to be.

I agree! I joined the chat room last night because I had time to kill before putting the kids to bed and wanted to check it out. I posted one line and had a very rude response from one of the participants. Everyone else came down on her and she claimed she was just drunk but it wasn't the fun, friendly addition to my evening I was looking for.

Well i guess its better for a drunk person to be in chat than a car lol.

Wow, I'm sorry I missed chat last night, then. ;)

I think it was last week, some kid was announcing that she was bored. I wasn't surprised when she did the "fall on the keyboard" thing by typing long lines of random letters. At that point, I chose the "ignore" button. You can click on the person on the chat list, and you can choose to ignore them.

That's one of those things I've done in chat over the years. It's less frustrating to hide their chat.

Hope that helps next time you encounter stuff like that.

I'll say this about the chats, having only been on a couple times (I'm apparently too busy being one of the "worshiped experts" if you follow the thread in the theme parks board), is that they are VERY different than the boards. I find it VERY difficult to follow anything because the timing of responses depends on the speed of the individuals typing.

And the conversations themselves can be VERY weird. :)
