Does this bother anybody else?

While I can understand your frustration... When you go out to eat at home do you look at on line menus and decide exactly what you want to eat before you leave? Or do you say... "I'm in the mood for Italian (or Chinese, or steak or Thai or Greek or Indian, etc) let's go to ______." Maybe because I rarely eat at chain restaurants, I only have a general idea of what will be on the menu when I eat out. Also, chefs are artists of the kitchen, they get bored making the same thing day in and day out. Try something new!

Doesn't bother my family at all.

None of us are picky eaters & can always find something we like! :thumbsup2

I don't mind the 180 day ADRs. The menu changes only bother me because they don't change them on their website very quickly. I have multiple allergies and often there is only 1 thing I can eat unless I want the same few allergy safe foods over and over. If I find out in time to change things up I'm happy enough to do so but I hate having to make a chef make something special for me. I'd much rather dine somewhere where I know something works for me.

I don't mind the 180 days, in fact, if I could now make dinner/breakfast ressies I would. The change in menu items? No, as I don't base my choice on 1 item..I am on the picky side, but, as of yet, I haven't gone hungry:)

No problem with menus changing. That's part of the restaurant business, every now and then they do a menu refresh to keep up interest.

Disney tried moving the ADR date to 90 days a couple of years back and there was so much vocal opposition and complaints that it was moved back to 180. Don't like having to think of my dining tines that far out but I can live with it.

I wouldn't say it bothers me but I get disappointed when a favorite item is removed from the menu. Boatrights used to have some pretty decent ribs on their menu and WCC used to have an out of this world maple glazed pork chop dish - both gone.

Ironically, some of their most loyal customers are the ones who are at a disadvantage. People who go multiple times a year don't usually plan that far out.

The current Disney management has very little interest in loyalty or repeat customers as very little in the way of advantages is offered for them.

They may have noted that most of their target demographic are not frequent or repeat customers.

I guess it doesn't really bother me. The only ADR I would consider cancelling would be if they took the cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread off the menu at LC.

Yes!! Especially because I'm a vegan and there is normally only one menu dish that I can eat. :thumbsup2

Well, I guess for us it's the combo of making adr's so early and then the menu changes coming later, along with multiple allergies in the family. I don't object to restaurants changing their menus - it does make things interesting after all, and if I didn't already have reservations I wouldn't care at all, because I could choose where we'd like to eat after the changes, just before our trip! :thumbsup2

The trouble is, when different people can't eat different things, it's a bit harder to find menus that work for everyone, so I do have to choose fairly carefully, even at home - we have certain places we go where we can count on certain items. "Picky" doesn't really enter into it when you have a celiac, a diabetic, a vegetarian, and a food dye allergy. I will say that Disney is FANTASTIC when it comes to eating with "food disabilities", the chefs go out of their way to prepare special items, and it's just a joy to eat at Disney for people with issues like this. But I do like to scout ahead of time to find the restaurant candidates where we'll have the least likelihood of having to cause more special prep than necessary. (Also, often the specially prepared dish is along the lines of plain grilled chicken and veggies on the side, which does get a bit boring day after day). So, when I find just the perfect combos at a place, it is really disconcerting, when a few weeks before our trip - suddenly those items disappear from the menu...
