Does thinking about your trip make you totally emotional?

I am worse than my kids waiting for our trip to roll around!!! I am the one who won't sleep the night before..hahaha

Me too! In fact last year, the night before our trip, I had so much nervous energy that I stayed up until 2 am doing silly things, like cleaning the fridge, the bathrooms, moving the last minute items from the sofa to right by the door and the list goes on and on. Since we were planning to leave around 4 am and it was already 2 am, I showered, put on makeup, got dressed and laid down (flat on my back as not to ruin the makeup) for the remaining 1 hour.

Yes, OP, I still cry at times and other times I squeal like a 4 year old! You are not alone! DH will watch every Travel Channel show that features Disney for 6 months leading up to the trip. If they are not showing one at the moment, he will pull one from our archives of recorded TC specials. (He had never been until our Disneymoon in '95, now he's hooked too!) We're worse than the kids too. We've got it bad.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't mean to post this twice. I don't know how I did it, but, this is the second time this has happened!?

I get emotional just thinking about our upcoming trip in June! Heck, I'm getting teary-eyed just typing this!

I was so excited when I found out the Main Street Electrical Parade would be showing at Disney World this summer. My first ever Disney experience was when my grandparents took me to Disneyland when I was 9. I tried so hard to stay awake for the parade, but I was so tired by the time it started, I fell asleep on my grandpa's shoulder and never got to see the parade.

My grandpa passed away a few months ago and I know he would be so happy to know that I will finally get to see the Main Street Electrical Parade. And I just know that he will be standing there watching the parade with me.

Are you serious about the MSEP!!!!????? Where did you hear that? If it's true I might pass out while I'm posting. I haven't seen that in years. We have always hoped they'd bring it back! (Don't flame me anyone, but we are not great fans of SM, sorry) I might tear up just thinking about it. Makes me feel like a little girl again.

Yes, I'm sure your grandpa will be there. Hope you can feel him there while you're watching. :littleangel: Enjoy your trip.

:woohoo: Dreams really do come true! Thanks for the reply and the link! :cool1: You just made my trip and I haven't even gone yet!!!!!! Woo hoo!

You're welcome! How cool to share that parade with your children - you'll be creating a wonderful memory with them (even if they fall asleep before it starts! ;)).

Fat chance of that! Besides, if they try to fall asleep they might get sprayed with a fan/sprayer. This could be their only chance! :rotfl:
I can't wait!!!! Just gave the news to my dad (who is still ticked off that they moved the MSELP to begin with). He was overjoyed! You've made his upcoming trip too! :cheer2: :woohoo: party:

Just imagine the excitement when the rest of the clan finds out. (We'll have around 13 relatives down there at once. WDW may never the the same). :rotfl:

This next trip will very special for us. Like everyone on the disboards I absolutely love alll things Disney. My parents took us to WDW every year for as long as I can remember. I always dreamed of the day that I could take my own child and share the magic with them. For many years my hubby and I tried to concieve with no luck. We finally started seeing an infertility Dr. and were able to get pregnant via IUI last January. And now after years of dreaming I finally get to share the magic with my son. We are taking him for his first trip next month. Everytime I think about this upcoming trip and how special it is to us I get emotional. It is a dream come true to have him here with us. I just know I am going to cry happy tears at MK with my DS and DH by my side!

I know just how you feel. It took us 7 years to bring our little darling into the world...and then BAM we had another on the way before the baby was 1. :rotfl: Taking our DS for the first time was absolutely magical! (Our second DS was still in utero) I cried tears of joy many many times that trip (and I still do!)! I even cried 4th of July during the Fort Wilderness golf cart parade. Go figure. :confused3

Hope your upcoming trip is filled with all the wonder and magic you've always dreamed of! pixiedust:

I'm the same way! It's our first family trip, so I'm super excited. I've had so much fun planning and anticipating. The kids know about it. I can't imagine keeping it a surprise. I don't think I could do it, lol.

We are going to Disney this September to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. I am VERY emotional about the trip. Our marriage has been through some dark times, and we've come out the other side and never gave up. We decided to celebrate this very, very special anniversary "that almost wasn't" in the most magical place on earth.

I get teary eyed and choked up just thinking about spending a whole week with my sweet husband... alone without the kids... in Disney, our favorite place. I know he's excited too, because we get into planning mode and get all giddy and excited discussing our plans. Then we sit together and sigh quietly as we both imagine walking down Main Street USA at night hand in hand.

Excuse me while I go cry right now...

Thank u for sharing Kampfirekim:) Now I know I wont't be the first dis mom crying at silly things like a golf cart parade, LOL!

I get emotional because I was 9 the last time I was at Disney. I was with my grandmom (who raised me) and she's since passed on. I am now a married woman with 3 young children. I have been dreaming of taking my children to the greatest place on earth. I know when we go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast I'm going to look up and remember being a child with my grandmother wishing I could be down eating with the characters (we couldn't afford to dine with the characters), and she will be looking down on me and my family from Heaven.

This thread is Killing me... I LOVE IT.

I really used to worry because I would cry during the nightly fireworks. My first DLR at Christmas trip. I managed to hold out until the snow started falling.... Woooop that was it I was in water works. (Mind you I;m from CA so we don't really "get" snow).:hippie:

We are taking my wonderful DD and her BFF (the BFF is what you would call underprivileged) both girls are totally Awesome and they will get the share in the Magic of WDW.

I could go on and on...
Second wedding Anniversary but 18th together anniversary...
But mine and the HD's 40th Bday
My DD going from a failing student to a A B student.... OMG we are so proud...

Do we really need a reason to feel such joy at being able to go?! nawwww..

So tear away ladies.... be happy : ) its ALL good!
