Does thinking about your trip make you totally emotional?

I swear, I am just so freaking excited.

We are surprising our kids and whenever I think about what they are going to do when we tell them I get all teary. I read a thread about what parents have done to surprise their kids and it just made me a mess, all the sweetness and excitement of it. I get teary thinking about rides and fireworks and doing stuff with my kids that I use to do with my parents. Every time I work on planning I end up needing to blow my nose!

My throat gets all lumpy and I am just so darn excited when I think about all the stuff we're going to do and the fun we're going to have. Disney truly only holds wonderful memories for me. Such good times, family trips, my honeymoon. I just can't wait to relive it.

I can't be the only one that feels this way, right?

I feel the same way. I tear up when I listen to live365.com and the song from SpectroMagic comes on or a Lion King song. And just thinking about landing at the Orlando airport makes me happy :yay:

Have you ever had Spring fever and had to get outside? Well, today i had Disney fever- I couldn't wait to get home to get on line to talk about it! And tomorrow we do our ADR's!!!!:cool1:

I sometimes cry while watching the Disney planner DVDs. And I get teary as soon as the video starts playing on The Magical Express. LOL. So I know what you mean. But they're tears of joy so they're okay.

Hi coloradodaisy,

I think you sound like such a sweet mom to be so excited for your children. Your post makes me feel emotional and I don't even know you!

I feel the same way about taking my two little cousins (if they get to go). The trip is not until May 2011, and they'll be 17 and 18 at the time, so not even little kids. But I'm very close to them and they've never been. I want to see them look upon the castle for the first time, giggle as characters greet them, scream on the thrill rides, rave over a dole whip, feel nostalgic at Wishes... you get the idea! I want it to be the best time those two knuckleheads have ever had, and thinking about them being so happy makes me feel teary-eyed too!

So don't feel alone at all, fellow tenderheart. :)

WDW makes me very emotional. Those memories are the happiest of my life.:goodvibes

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one that wells up at anything and everything disney. As soon as I hear certain songs, or even watch a Youtube video of the fireworks I start to cry. Heck, I even start to cry when I think about my daughters reaction when she takes off in the plane the first time to go to Disney. Just so emotional. My husband says I'm a sap, but I've even caught him tearing up watching YouTube.!!! Told him we better pack a lot of tissues

I do to! When we went to D.W in 2008 the moment we got there and saw the signs saying Disney World I started crying because the looks on my kids' faces were priceless!

Oh man, I am a big ball of mess before my trips to Disney. I am constantly on the DIS boards, listening to Live365, and love watching my taped shows about WDW. Everytime I do all of this, I always have tears in my eyes and get so giddy about everything. I am so thankful that I am not driving my family nuts with all of my craziness, because they understand and they too can't wait for our trips (they just don't show it like I do).

You're not the only one! :goodvibes We are leaving Monday, and I am sooo excited! Last night, I saw Wishes and Fantasmic on youtube and was teary eyed at both of them! Can you imagine how I'll be watching them live?!

Omg yes! I thought I was nuts! I get so emotionally overwhelmed (in a good way) when I think about the trip... It mostly has to do with the fact that this will be the first trip for my daughters. Just imagining the looks of wonder and joy on their faces when they first see Cinderella's castle, or first meet the princesses... it makes me want to sob! :lovestruc

YES! :rotfl:I am surprising my daughter with her first trip for her 6th birthday. We have always told her we would go as a family when her brother is a bit older (i.e. doesn't nap anymore and would be able to go on more rides), so she has it in her head she will be 10 when she goes. I am going to take her solo and we will stay with a friend who will be there with her parents (who I adore and know well, we have travelled together to Disney before so I know it will be OK!). I get all choked up thinking of her opening a box in early October and finding clues to her November trip. And I do get a bit choked up thinking that we are leaving daddy and my sweet 2.5 year old boy behind...

I get emotional just thinking about Disney too! I makes me happy just knowing I have a trip in the future...even if more than a year away. I also cry at the parades. I try to choke it back so no one sees me but....the lump is always in my throat and the tears are welling up in my eyes. Even the Christmas Parade on TV does it to me....I guess we are just very passionate about Disney.

As others have said, I get emotinal about Disney b/c I grew up going there, always living within a two-hours' drive. Lots of good family memories all bundled together, especially since I didn't have an extreme abundance of happy family memories outside of Disney.

I also get emotional (sometimes super hyper rather than just weepy) when I think about sharing those memories with someone else-such as my baby sister (who is 10+years younger and so was not in on those early Disney trips), my hubby, or my BFF.

I have a heard time not crying when I first get there and it makes me cling to my mom seeing all those unhappy kids, although my mom has figured out a way to get me into the fun she drops my Dfi and I at down town disney away from the crying kids and mike and I are able to get into the sprit of things. Can you think of a better way for me to handle the crying kids expecelly with out my mom their at all

I am emotional about everything from McDonalds commercials to sweet old couples walking hand in hand down the street!!
I am worse than my kids waiting for our trip to roll around!!! I am the one who won't sleep the night before..hahaha

Funny story from our 2007 trip. I convinced friends of our to go to Disney at the same time..the first week of Dec. They actually got on the same flight as us. Our kids knew we were going and their kids knew they were going but no one knew we were going at the same time...Me and Mrs T were dying for weeks..so excited...we could not wait for the kids to see each other at the airport. We arrived, got through security and I called Mrs T...they were already seated at the gate...I lag behind a litte so I can get my camera out to see the screaming and hopping around...we come around the corner and my son walks by them to sit down and say "oh hi tony"...that was it...no screaming, no excitement...would have though we met up with them at the local Walmart or something....aauugghh!! I couldn't believe it!! They got excited later but no good surprise pics :( me and Mrs T were both bummed...
silly kids just burst our excitement bubble

I'm gonna sound like such a wuss... whenever I plan a WDW vacation, and I'm anticipating the trip, I of course watch clips of shows at the parks and rides and listen to Disney music... and EVERY time I watch Illuminations and Fantasmic, without fail, I cry. It just gets me soooooo excited and it hits me every time that I'm actually returning to WDW!!! I love it:goodvibes

This is my favorite start to our trip. We always start at MK and get there early to see the little opening number before rope drop. When the music starts to play and the train pulls in with Mickey Mouse, it gets me every time! I LOVE IT!
Glad to know I'm not the only silly teary DW fan out there!

I get so emotional whenever it comes to Disney--and I just turned 24!! But I end up going through the whole gamut of emotions: when we first book I'm so excited I can't stand myself, my eyes get wide enough to pop out of my head when we get onto I-4 on the way down, and then by the time I get to the fireworks at MK, I start to tear up like a little girl. Never fails. It's just part of the whole experience for me! Can't wait to go back!

Aww- what a sweet mom you are to be so excited for your kids! Have you told them yet. I get all emotional too thinking of our vacation coming in May- this will be our second time to DW and we all can't wait! It's been a rough two years for our family, and I'm wanting a time to heal for all of us. I can't think of a better way to do it than a week having fun in DW!
