We made sure that the one we bought came pre-loaded with american maps specifically for our Florida holidays - and we have added to it whilst over there so it now contains all our favourites as well

Alamo charges $11.99/Day for a Gps Navigation Device, which is a horrendous amount of money.

Don't know about other Sat navs but our Hertz car has come with one fitted, don't like it at all. starts up every time we get in the car. Not something we need so its annoying, only time we will need it is when we go to St Augustine, then I will use my own as I have preloaded car parks I want to park at.
