So as sad as I may be to write the end...I have to. We started our last day much as we had started every day...with a little breakfast in our room. While DD was eating, I finished packing and reorganizing our bags. I don't know why I have a such a hard time around planning for park bag vs. carry on bag that I'm leaving at luggage services while we finish our last day. I really should make a list for the next time. But every time, I panic that I'm going to put something in the wrong bag.
Anyway, my neurotic nature aside, we got the bags packed and called Bell Services. I have never used them. MAN are they quick. I think I barely put down the phone and I swear she was there. Yes, I said "she" This immediately upset DH who felt that he shouldn't be making a woman carry his bags. I forget her name but she was a really fun CM. She saw our towel animals in our room and pointed out that she should take them home. Um okay.
We headed downstairs, checked in for our flights, stored our bags, and we off for our last day. We always spend our last day at DTD since we never seem to get over there during the week. We spent the morning walking around the marketplace. DD bought some overpriced scrapbooking supplies (for herself!) and we picked up some gifts at World of Disney. We also FINALLY made it to Goofy's Candy Co. (As an aside, we were home for 3 weeks and I found the chocolate/candy covered pretzels DD had made in the back of my fridge...oh well!) We were happy to discover that we were able to use our snack credits there since we had a TON left.
After walking by the DVC booth, DH decided that he wanted to buy into DVC. Yup, that's my DH at his finest. Very impulsive that way. UMMMM, we are hours away from leaving Florida after a 9 DAY vacation and NOW you decide you want to buy DVC? We could have done the little tour earlier in the week. Sadly I had to be the responsible adult and say no, we aren't buying it and steered him away from the booth.
After that, we went to DD's favorite: The
Lego Store. She and DH built some lego race cars while I did something. Couldn't tell you what I did. I certainly wasn't taking pics of DTD because these are the only ones I have from our last day.
After Legos, we were getting hungry to see went over to Planet Hollywood to use our $15 that comes with the MYW package. I don't particularly care for PH so I don't know why I feel like I need to use the $15 (especially since it doesn't even cover 1 person's meal). We had some lunch. I forget what we ate but I do remember that DD didn't TOUCH hers so it became her meal at the airport later.
We left PH and headed over for our last ride on the "purple buses" for the trip. I really wish that I had written down our bus driver's name because he's apparently one of those famous drivers. He was very entertaining. He sang, told jokes, and chatted with DD for ride to Blizzard Beach and then onto AKL. DD told him a rather long story about her "dogs" (we don't own a dog

). He found her so amusing, he gave her a YOMD CM pin of Tink that said something about spreading pixie dust.
So there you have it...our last bit of Pixie Dust and it was a cool one
The trip home was rather unadventurous. We took ME back to the airport and flew home without any delays. In fact, we were early again. My mom was waiting to pick us up. Apparently she couldn't figure out how to use the cell phone lot at Logan so she paid an insane about of $$$ to pick us up (and of course, wouldn't let me pay...okay mom!). DD did not stop talking the entire ride back (and it was about 1am!).
Overall, it was a FANTASTIC trip. I've said it before and I'll say it again. 9 days was perfection. So perfect that I really wish I could figure out a way to pull DD out of school for a 9 day trip next year without her teachers realizing it
But instead I'll be settling for 2 short trips (Feb and Oct is the plan) and my first AP
Thank you to everyone who has read along. It's been fun doing this. Stay tuned for some more pixie dust in 2009!!!
