What's the impact during free dining? Does the menu, quality or service change?

Would you pay for the dining package during the promotion if you couldn't get free dining?

Thanks

and found the food to be terrific. That, of course, is a matter of personal taste. Did I get anything I didn't like? Sure, but not because it wasn't prepared well but because I tried something new, a great perk of Free Dining I think.

The service was also very good, never felt like we were given short shrift because of FD. Only had one server we didn't like, at LLT. The entire waitstaff seemed more interested in each other than the patrons. No extra tip for you!! We did leave $$ over and above the FD tip for all of the rest.

I loved the free dining and can't wait to do it again in Sept!!!

Oh, and I would never go back without the Dining Plan, even if I had to pay for it.

We've paid twice for the dining plan and also went during the free dining. Didn't notice any difference either. And the food was just as good. Make reservations early!!

Last couple of years Disney opened up a temporary TS restaurant in the Magic Kingdom during the free dining promotion. At least one restaurant (Tony's?) served a dessert sampler during the free dining promotion.

Thanks for the info.

I guess we'll go ahead and purchase the dining plan eventhough our DVC stay is during the "free dining" promotion.

Thanks again

I don't see how things could change during free dining. The dining plan is now $39.69. The price of TS, CS and snack came to that amount for me, but when the 18% tip was added on, then it became a savings.

I did tip extra, especially at Cape May Buffet on Easter Sunday. I gave our waitress an $15 extra for her kindness, and that she was working on Easter Sunday, plus she was pregnant, but she was an exceptional waitress.

Actually, I had all really nice waitresses in every place we ate.
Boma-extra $5
Germany-was a blast and the food was actually good.-extra $5
Crystal Palace extra $5
Cape May Buffet $15
50's Prime Time-$5
Rose and Crown $10, she told us she was the only non college CM that worked there and lived in Orlando as a resident-very nice waitress.
LeCelliur-$10 very nice and took a lot of time with you asking how everything was and whether you liked the food, what you didn't like. her boyfriend was a chef from Wisconsin, so I don't know if she was asking for him or herself.

Last year during FD I had dinner at Chefs de France. The steak entree was removed from the menu and replaced with a hamburger:rolleyes2

I notice the hamburger is still on the lunch menu, but on the dinner menu has been replaced with... you guessed it... the steak.:confused3

I'd like to give Chefs a go again, because I enjoy the food, but if I got a hankering for steak, I can't be sure they won't pull another "bait and switch":sad2:
