Does the "member since" date mean anything?

We bought a contract for BWV about a month ago on the secondary market and just got our membership cards today. They say "member since 4/99" on them- 7 years too early.

Is that date used for anything that would matter to us or do we just ignore that it is incorrect?

That is the date of purchase for the original owners of the resale you purchased. Since you now own it, it is your "date of purchase" too. Otherwise, there is no advantage or disadvantage regarding that date.
