Does the MDE app post accurate wait times?

I’ve been seeing everyone say how if you don’t rope drop the parks it’s becoming impossible to not wait in lines.

Looking at the MDE app right now (920am on a Tues) and the only rides showing more than a 10 min wait at MK are 7D, SM, JC, and the carousel. This doesn’t line up with many of the recent trip reports...is Disney purposely putting low wait times in the app or are people over exaggerating the actual wait times on here?

MDE is generally inaccurate but you should not even look at any of the times until at least 90 minutes after opening

The times posted in MDE are the times posted at the ride. Those times aren't always accurate, but they are consistent.

There are rumors that Disney posts them to move people around the parks too. I don't think they really post times under the actual wait but they over post them regularly.
