Disneyland Imagineers do TOOONS of optical illusion. Most building are all made with optical illusion. The most notable is the Christmas Tree during the holiday. At the Top, the ornaments are made to look small while the bottom, the ornaments are huuuuge. It makes the tree look taller.

The WHOOOOLE Park is actually on a slope. Sloping upward which ToonTown is the highest point. Now when you look any building it looks taller!

I find all that stuff facinating. I didn't know that about the trees but I shouldn't be suprised. I've been reading that guide to imagineering. Wish it was a bigger book!

I am obsessed with learning these kinds of things. I love all of it! There is that dvd out....gosh I cannot remember the name, my dad has it, and it has a DL trivia game. Anyway, lots of footage of the park being built and stuff...I could watch that for hours!!

Sort of OT, but related: There's a drive-through car wash that I use sometimes. You pull forward into the washing area and stop. I always put my car in park. For the next 3 minutes, I am fairly certain that my car never actually moves, but can I tell you how hard I press down on that brake pedal?!?! I swear I am going forward!

Yes its true. The walls move. A Disney castmember is the one who told us, I was sure they were lying. Until I rode it, then just watch the bottom of the track and walls and you'll see, you're not going anywhere. Its kinda creepy since you feel so much like it. I don't watch down there anymore...I just pretend like I don't know. Lol.
