Does the ice taste better than the water?

I read on another board that the ice at WDW is better tasting then the water? Is this true? Because I hear that the water is awful and was really worried about not being able to choke it down. I don't like to use the water enhancing powders and was planning on utilizing the free water at the parks. If the ice truly tastes better, I'll just fill up my water bottle with ice.

I don't know the answer to your question but I do know you can take your own bottled water in all the parks.

The only water I believe was horrible was a cup of water my mom got near Motorland Speedway one night in MK. It. Was. Awful. It tasted like oil! The rest I've had tastes refreshing. But then again, the ice is good too :thumbsup2

Many people have said the water from the water fountains tastes awful, but the ice and water at the CS places is filtered and tastes much better.

The ice is fine. Tap water in the bathrooms and drinking fountains are ... not.

A water bottle filter works magic though, I have one inline on my camelbak.

Water from the tap and the water fountains is icky. The free water you will get at snack stands and in restaurants is the same water used to make soda, and it tastes fine. I only drink water, and we didn't pay for a single bottle for me on our summer trip.

The only thing that bugs me is that Disney won't fill up your bottle for you. The CMs have to give you a cup which you can then dump into your bottle. I understand the sanitation reasons behind it, but I just think it's so wasteful!

Yes the ice taste fine. I can't hardly drink the water without water enhancers so I just get a large cup of ice.

Hubby is bringing his Camelbak for water. It stays so COLD! and I'll have my backpack for our essentials for the day.

I'm here at the resort and I can report that the ice really does taste better than the water. I used to refill my water bottle from the soda fountain or from the restaurants, but the water always has a weird taste. It's fine when the water is cold, but once the water heats up it is funky. I've been filling my water bottle with ice from the ice machines and drinking it when it melts. Problem solved!

The water fountains at Mahic Kingdom taste like its mixed with exhaust fumes from the Indy Speedway awful. Why does the water taste so bad? Even bought bottled water Zephryllis from Goodings & that was equally bad.

The counter service restaurants generally had better water than the snack stands. One place did not, but I can't remember. Just depends how many filters they have, and ice is always filtered.

You can get free cups of ice water from any CS restaurant. You don't even have to buy anything; just go up and ask for water. It's filtered and tastes much better than the tap water and drinking fountain water.

And I use a refillable water bottle and pour my ice water into my bottle. Then you don't have to carry around cups of water!

I drank water from all the counter services when I asked for ice water and it was all fine, everytime all the time...ice from machines at resort was fine...I drink water all the time and I have no complaints...
